Agent wants perceived competition between buyers.I'd be surprised if we pay that for a 28 year old, 29 on September.
So its taken an hour for us to be interested and then decide not to then in the mean time tell these sources aswell?

Why send Gil on loan and then splash out further millions on Carrasco? They're the same type of players! Yes, Carrasco is better, but he's 29. Better to just stick with Gil and give him opportunities and time to develop.
Can't see this had any legs at all.

We already signed Kulusevski, and have 5 players for 2 positions. Should be enough, especially when there are other positions with glaring lack of depth.Probably because Carrasco has what we need now rather than Gil giving us possibly what we need 3 years down the line.
Fill the need now and still have Gil for later.

I used to really rate Carrasco but peeing off to China when you're 25 and a highly rated player in European League smells off to me.
i knew it would (probably) be a money thing BUT he's a top player, money is hardly going to be a problem even if he stays in Europe.Maybe too much money to turn down.

(same as Oscar at Chelsea).
