Modric also had a slow start, let's not forget (NOTE: I'm not saying Simons will end up as good as him, but both were bought for their midfeild creativity capabilities)

I'm just hoping he's not a "club signing".
He has potential and I think Frank has as well.

And getting the ball in situations where he can do useful things more than once every 45 minutes.

Not the first to make this observation, but he looks short on confidence, but also "trying to hard", looking for a perfect solution when a good one is available.

Give him more of those situations, do the good thing, that can build confidence.

Confidence is a huge thing
But the coach’s should build that too with him
They create scenarios in training to show the way of play for example
 
His first goal involvement since West Ham 2 months ago… Muani should’ve increased that tally though.

we fed him way more in that game I thought. Especially Bentancur, who played way closer to the old Conte era Bents level - playing through the middle and forward W T F !

Actually thought Xavi had a ropey start to the game - the first few things he tried didn't come off. But we kept feeding him, and he kept showing and trying, and he literally grew confidence as things started going right. Assist for Johnson. Culminating into multiple brilliant, class actions which helped win the game and we should have scored more from.

Obvs opposition pretty poor, but great confidence booster for the lad. Can't miss his talent but def looks a bit lightweight - should come as he adjusts to PL?
 
well at least if we do need to sell simons he's definitely capable
glad that TF and the team are persisting with him - must be difficult or everyone including xavi since the chelsea game
