Xavi Simons

He's also a through ball merchant. His vision is fantastic, and he has the technique to pull the passes off. If hes able to play in the PL physically we've got a bit of steal. He's the most talented AM we've been linked to and the one I really wanted. It just seemed like he was Chelsea's the entire time.

The level of technique in the squad has just gone up significantly.
To me a "merchant" is someone very good at that, but not so good at other things. But I appreciate we all use words differently and based on your other posts on him I think we're in perfect agreement.

Overall good vision and awareness. Through balls, linking with others, getting out of tight spaces.
I think his ceiling is absolutely higher. His game is more rounded than both Eze and MGW. He's press resistant, can genuinely dribble and ball carry and most importantly he can play both as a tempo setter as well as final third killer passer. He's also significantly younger than both.

A move to a Spurs is probably what his career needs. He started off at Barca and super highly rated (this is where I first saw him) then he made weirdish move to PSG because he didn't think he was being given the chance he should have been and that was that weird period where Barca were ignoring their youth team for superstars that didn't really work. Of course PSG at the time was no place to make a youth team breakthrough either, then he moved to RB to get a restart and it hasn't exactly worked.

I think he needs a tier 2 club where he can get the love and attention he needs and coaching to coax out all that talent he has. That is what EB sort of was but they never intend on holding on to a player, they are about flipping them. Coming to Spurs is someone he can showcase his talent and create a genuine stable home for himself.
Has he not been a success at RB? I haven't seen that much of him there, but thought he had been good there?

He reminds me of Desire Doue in the way that he plays.

I think the plan is to parade him down the high road in front of the protest.

The hope being that the signing is still fresh enough that they're still in 'tossing into a sock mode' rather than seething and foaming at the mouth for the lack of something else.
Those plums will now state that it was their planned protest that caused the club to get this signing done. 😂

He may have been our first choice, but Chelsea hovering and circumstances surrounding others meant we tried for them first. I'm sure the naysayers will pretend that it happens despite Levy's involvement.
Wouldn't be entirely shocked if some said it happened because of the protests and Levy getting so much stick either.

Edit: Finney beat me to it...

You're missing his successful season at PSV. What's encouraging is the lad is happy to go down the ladder to find game time, show everyone who he is, to then climb back up
