Winter Olympics

A long road back for Vonn...and I don't mean racing ...just normal life .

multiple operations to repair her tibia...before you even get to repairing her acl ...all in the left leg. While already having had a partial titanium knee replacement in her right leg.

Canada smacking Czech 4-0 in the hockey now - boy, oh boy, what a team they have. McDavid, MacKinnon, Crosby, Suzuki, Marner, Marchand, Reinhardt etc. Binnington in goal, Makar and Toews at the back and so forth. You could list their entire roster and it would read as an all-star team. fudging hell.

This Czech team isn't bad (full of NHL talents, including my favorite, Avs forward Martin Necas) - but they're getting pumped by the hockey overlords here. 5-0 now.

I don't know who can stop them. Sweden the ones culpable to have their number, but not this time around, I think. Latvia vs USA later tonight, USA should crush them, but we'll see.

Chapeau to Choi Ga-on on besting Chloe Kim in the ladies snowboard half pipe.....took an awful slam on her first run and looked in a bad way.

Somehow dusted herself off (I never thought we'd be seeing her back out there) killed it with her third run...the first rider to put any pressure on Kim for years...and that pressure was too much for Kim. Took home the gold...crying her eyes out 🥰

1st ever gold on the snow for GB

In what sport?

Canada wiping the floor with France in the hockey now. 8-2 with 13 to go. 19 year old Macklin Celebrini scoring goals for fun. USA vs Germany (with one of the world’s best players in Draisaitl) later today.

Also, Brazil got their first ever Winter Olympics medal yesterday! Lucas Braathen used to compete for Norway, but had some disagreement with the association, so opted to compete for his mom’s country. Lucas is a real character, so quite befitting that he competes for Brazil, I’d say!

Team Snowboard cross, really fun to watch.

The women’s team cross country was a great watch yesterday. Sweden were basically the Gallaticos but the 2nd leg fell and they had to fight back to get silver whilst Norway took Gold. Like cross country.

Tom Wilson of Canada ended up in a fight with a French guy - ended up on the floor first, and had quite a meltdown for losing. To be continued, haha. Wilson is a smasher, so someone are going to feel his wrath.

The Swedish girls then complained that the Norwegian girls celebrated «too loudly», haha. The two teams have been beefing with one another for years.
