i thought we mugged Lyon but I didn't think we were "lucky" to beat Inter. I'd say it was even, we SMASHED them at home and they were lucky it was just 3 and they dominated us at the San Siro and we were lucky we got that away goal.

I am quietly not very confident of our winning chances.

I want us to win the Title more than anything else.

so lets hope we step up to the Challenge...................Come on you Spurs..................................................

i'll give you that, i kinda meant that we were lucky to get away with throwing away what should have been a comfortable lead and still getting through, normally momentum has the final say in such situations
 
No.

Still don't know if our squad is good enough defensively in Europe and our passing still isn't good enough.

The FA cup used to be our bread and butter, but not for the last 20 years. 6 semi final defeats and no wins is appalling!

League cup is our best chance, but I'd prefer if we won the FA. I'd take the Europa, but not at the expense of missing out on top 4 again.
 
We have about as much chance of winning any of the domestic cups as any other team in the league. You need an awful amount of luck.

Chelsea get twice as much luck as any two teams in world football when it comes to the cups. They always get home ties in the FA cup, then there's the great CL robbery of 2012 :lol:

What was that ridiculous stat they had in regards to lower league teams at home in the cups :ross:

If I were a punter that is a good bet.

Verts was a Jonah in the cups last term. His diverted (OG?) v Norwich and mistakes vs Leeds and sending off against Basle led to us crashing out of the cups to not very good teams.

AVB thought 4-4-2 and a quick goal would kill off the Milan away tie. He was wrong. It needed an extra time goal from Ade to help us progress. The unexpected ET did little for us in the next game against Fulham which we lost 1-0.

So I am cautious about predicting success in the cups. AVB needs to up his game in the domestic comps.
 
Unlike last year, we have a very good and quality squad.
We can field good sides in the cup games, without impacting on our league squad.

We should win a cup if all goes to plan.

Would rather win a cup then finish among the runners up ( top four), and i can see us doing so this season.
 
We will win one of the domestic trophies. The League Cup is slightly more likely than the FA Cup, simply because most of our rivals put out second strings for that trophy. We will, too. But our second string would look like this:

You can't tell me that team is worse than the one that won the Carling Cup in '08.
 
We will not win any cups this season. The league will be incredibly tight, but we should make top 3. Man Utd will defo miss out on CL.
