Will Lankshear

It would have been good. But I assume being the back up wasn’t how he wanted his career to progress. And it was unlikely RDZ would have used him as anything other than a back up. It does feel like we have let one get away, but I can’t blame him for wanting something more than we could offer.
Richarlison and Solanke are guaranteed to get injured. I could imagine him getting a chance during the season and then keeping his place. He is a natural finisher.

That's hard to read when we were the last club, but it's clear he wanted to settle somewhere, and that he has had to drop down a league is linked to his current ability. Nobody from the top flight saw in him someone ready to start in premier league, he didn't get an offer from someone like Fulham or Ipswich.

There's a lot of footballers who have handled the championship well and never made the step up - he's got to prove he's not one, and if he does turn the corner on that we can have him back. The key is that we showed him belief and told him to be patient, if we did that he won't have any issues returning. If we ignored him and downplayed his ability, then we will never see him in our colours again.

Ultimately I think it was the right move for all involved.........Just. I think there would have been value keeping him and exposing from the bench when the time worked, but that takes players wanting that and after Oxford I suspect he wanted that again, he certain engages with the fans and that is like a drug to players, seems to have found that again with Boro.

I will follow his career with interest though for sure

That is all very fair
There are many who have scored plenty in that division and not the prem
But…. I’d add that there are many who scored in that division and when they were in the prem they were playing for teams not good enough for this level to supply them too
Watkins is a good example of one who went up the division and got better at a better club
Toney is quite unusual that he did it at the same club but that club is also unique in what’s its achieved
But you will get your Dwight Gayles for example

Yeh he has a very similar "look" to the early Kane here. I know its a likely or even lazy comparison but for me he is, maybe its the broad shoulders and slightly hunched look at times hahahah
It’s an aesthetic comparison but their backgrounds are so similar too
Spurs fans dumped by Arsenal
Had to show their value on loan
Scored a reasonable amount and waited for a chance here
Kane got that chance
Lankshear did score in the CL
Kane has gone out to be the best on the planet
I don’t think Lankshear will do that but I would never have thought Kane would do what he has done
Watch his goals here and you see who he has modelled his game on

He’s not one of our own and he isn’t from Tottenham, i doubt he will have a connection with this club like Mikey Moore does.

He's from Hertfordshire and grew up a big Spurs fan. Obviously Moore has been at the club since he was 8, whereas Lankshear came in at 18; but there's still a strong bond, which will hopefully pay back for us when there's the big scramble for him in a year or two

So where are all these players from Tottenham then?
fudge me why do the daggers have to come out when someone makes a comment on here? All i said was Lankshear wouldn’t have the same connection to the club as someone like Mikey Moore because he hasn’t been here very long and isn’t from the London area. People are talking like they have just found out i shagged their misses.

Because the comments was odd
How can you judge anyone’s affiliation
Kane wasn’t here as a kid was he

And the point people are making is that Lankshear was not given a chance when we have 2 injury prone strikers. Right now we are playing a preseason friendly without a striker.
Maybe the coach rates both strikers higher and maybe one of them may be planning to start the season? Maybe we have one coming in? Why have him here for no reason if we are planning to get rid anyway?
