What would YOUR priority signing be in the Jan transfer window?

Since when is Maddison out for the season? He's back doing gym work at the moment.

Interview released 10 days ago.

"When I realised, obviously, I was going to be out for the majority of the season, if not the whole season, that kind of crushed that dream of going to the World Cup," he said.
"It was a tough one to take. That's one of the cons of football and one of the negatives of missing out through injury. And like I said, it's about dealing with that mentally. And that's partly why there's been some dark days.

"You want to represent your country, you always want to be in a position, especially off the back of a good season last year. Personally, with good numbers, I felt like I was close with Thomas Tuchel coming in."

But asked whether he’d ruled himself out of a World Cup call-up, Maddison said: "The first and foremost thing for me is just to come back safely and be fit. It's such a long injury.
"There are so many ups and downs that I just want to be in a place, returning and having a smile on my face and being fit for Tottenham Hotspur, whenever that is.

"It's going to be towards the end of the season, so the World Cup is probably going to be ruled out, if not definitely. So, it's one of them things."

Dam didn't realise, I thought he'd be back in Jan or Feb.
Its the same injury as Bentancur and Dragusin, and they were both pretty much dead on 9 months.

Kulu and Solanke there's more unknowns about, as its been a bit less clear what is wrong with them

Def not Jan or Feb, but I remember watching the Maddison YouTube video where he films himself during rehab and the latest one released a couple of weeks back was filmed just before the Man U home game. Speaking to the specialist it seemed a fair chance he will be back before the end of the season.

Of course it is not wise to come out with exact dates for a return with his type of lengthy injury, but I would guess that if all goes well/as expected he would return for roughly the final few games of the season - Obviously making the World Cup squad he has no chance of doing.....

Knowing our luck it will be halfway through next season before he returns

For those that watch German football, what's the issue with Goretzka and the push back on his potential signing?

On paper seems to be what we are missing ?

ICYMI he visited the consultant surgeon this week who said Maddison is due another checkup in 6 months and only if the knee is “dry” then he can finally begin training again then if he’s lucky he might be able to play again within 8 months of the surgery; so maybe he’ll be back to full training by May but can only imagine how rusty he’ll be having been out for such a long time.
