El Dante
Paul Walsh
He's had one injury that kept him out for several weeks last year, beyond that I don't think he's missed more than 1-2 games through injury.
Neither had Solanke had he before joining us?

You're right, we should never buy another player because they are bound to get injured once we sign them.Neither had Solanke had he before joining us?

Lol. Basically everyone wantsperfectcompetent players whoneverdon’t constantly make the same mistakes, andalwayswin more games than they lose.
Aren't we doing that tbf? Vuskovic/VDV/Gray/Odobert/Xavi Simons/Odobert/Tel/BergvallIMO, we have to get back to buying players like Eze from QPR (has to decide between Crystal Palace or us), rather than trying to buy Eze from Crystal Palace (has to decide between Arsenal and us - yes I know he's a goon, but they are a better prospect than us for anyone).
There is a reason no one else was in for our ready made PL buys (Solanke, Maddison, Kudus, Bissouma, etc.). They are decent, but not top tier.
All our best buys (Dele, Bale, Modric, Son, etc.) would not have signed for us if they had gone to another PL side first.
Yep, I'd like us to do it with all our buys.Aren't we doing that tbf? Vuskovic/VDV/Gray/Odobert/Xavi Simons/Odobert/Tel/Bergvall
We've invested a lot in younger players for not insignificant fees - whether they all come good or not is another question. The ones you mention other than Son to some extent hit the ground running more than most of the recent crop, but we are certainly shopping in that market....
In which case there can be no moaning about slumps and poor periods. Having a young squad will almost certainly mean a longer 'journey' to sustained good results. As opposed to buying ready made.Yep, I'd like us to do it with all our buys.
Short term yes, but long term these young buys will become the senior players, and so on. With a steady conveyor belt, the squad would have a mix of youth and experience. In which case there can be no moaning about slumps and poor periods. The difference is you can buy a Maddison or Solanke who are 7.5/10 players. Or you can buy a young 6/10 who might become a 9/10. We as fans and the board have to let a manager move the squad from 6 to 9. But it takes a special manager.
FWIW - I still think there is a balance to be struck.
I said at the start of the season we could have brought in Henderson. I'm sure many scoffed. He's a fantastic leader and someone who commands respect from referees etc. He wouldn't have needed to play that much to have an influence on the younger players. It wasn't a signing based on ability, but would have been exactly what we needed out on the pitch.
Edit: Also - there are sometimes nuggets that fit the young mantra but also semi proven. Mainoo being one. We should be all over that.
