Think the major link there is we seem to change manager after selling our most influential players. Chairman sells them and expect the team to perform to the same level, never going to happen. Plus added to that manager gets the hump, Ramos for example clearly tried to get himself the sack because both Keane and Berbatov were sold leaving him with Bent and Pav.
