Good player no doubt but plays in patches. 3 excellent games then goes off the face of the earth for the next 4. I really wanted him when Leicester went down. Excellent on his day though.

With @billyiddo here, Not that good. United is doing what we used to (we at least did it with young players)

Zero chance he was on their list of top 5 targets, he has been bought because he was cheap and available.

One of my work colleagues is a Man U fan and the meltdown is hilarious, it’s not that Tielemens or Santos are bad players per se, it’s the fact that two months ago all the talk was over Anderson, Fernandes, Tchouameni and Tonali, and there is no denying it’s a drop off from those names.

I am happy for United to take talent about from Villa. United will be fighting for a CL place most likely no matter what next season, taking talent from Villa just leaves one less challenger for us.

I agree we need better. But if you are going to use very basic stats like that, it doesn't tell you much other than Richarlison is at a similar level whilst playing in a much worse team:

Kroupi - 1,683 minutes of Premier League football 13 goals, 0 assists
Richarlison - 1,960 minutes of Premier League football 11 goals, 4 assists

So Kroupi in a much better side has scored 2 more goals in about 3 less games and Richi has 4 more assists. There is far more to consider in a player but it doesn't scream out lets spend big money on him....

Kroupi was playing half the time as an AM.

Half of Richys goals come when we’re 3-0 down.

I saw Tielemans as a rotation/replacement for Mainoo. With CL games to worry about, I thought those two would rotate. I agree, together they would be an issue.

They will have to, especially with Ugarte injured.

Tielemans, Bruno, Santos, Mount, and Mainoo are the only healthy, senior midfielders they have.

Gomes from Wolves, Alex Scott, Baleba, and Manu Kone from Roma are the links I saw with United a few days ago after Tielemans looked done.

Agree but i suspect Utd want to be challenging for titles, im not sure if he is enough in that respect. Its a signing we would have made in previous years. I dont think he is a game changer for them or shifts the needle.

Brilliant if true. They have let the market know they will pay big money for an ageing player and their big money signing Zubamendi know he’s not good enough.

True, but if these transfers go through along with the rumoured Watkins to Fenerbache that’s three key players sold, factor in Onana’s ACL means his season is effectively a write off to make it four and they look significantly weaker next season.
