Transfer thread

I think Ndiaye is probably the only proper difference maker there is any chance of. And even there we'd have to pay well over the odds (maybe £75m) and beat off interest from United and Liverpool. He would be perfect though with his versatility across the three AM roles.

Interest from United and Liverpool? Where have you seen they're in for him?

People on here go on about a million players who are apparently perfect for us yet the many go on to do little. Still waiting for Daka to look like that perfect striker we should have signed instead of Leicester....

I have always said we lack imagination as a fanbase, thats why everyone wants Poch back, was the same all the 90s when people begged for us to get Gazza before he went to Boro and was brick. I have also never really seen a time when another clubs signed a player we didn't want "we should have" etc, only for radio silence when they are crap.

Maybe it happens everywhere, but we love to continue links to the same old same old, thats why we are perfect bait for the press.

People on here wanted Traore every year.............I had a long debate about him being crap

I think it's more that probably 3/4s of transfers are relative failures across the board. People just pay attention to their ones, and lose sight of the others

Yep, there is definitely a trust issue with the fans and transfers.

My imagination is at it's highest with the younger signings to be fair. It's hard to get so excited about Gallagher even though we all know he'll do a steady job and bring some leadership.

I was genuinely excited when Gray signed.

We definitely don't need the Traores of this world.

Seems like Kolo Muani might leave and be replaced with 40mill Mateta... How do we feel about that?

Would be a very good short term signing imo.

Not sure about longer term, but even if we go into next season with a different manager and Mateta isn't a great fit we've certainly had worse backup strikers.

Can't see a downside, can be backup, start if we ever have an injury crisis, offer an alternative depending on the style. Minimal settling in period also. Can bin off Kolo Muani at the same time.

Just seen his goal return for Palace is 1 in 3, not too shabby.
