Transfer thread

Maybe we should just go for damsgaard to replace Maddison. He is only 25.

Here's the problem though. He just signed a new deal until 2030. We will pay a huge premium because of that.

I've been wondering for a while whether we avoid Brentford players as part of our deal to sign Frank OR whether doesn't fancy some of the players he's worked with, now the expectations are so much higher being Spurs boss.

Damsgaard seems quite logical to me but I'm guessing there is a logical reason we're not in for him.

The fact they just lost their coaching staff and best players? They might just not want to lose anymore due to relegation fears.

Misses easy chances every game. Richi puts more openings away - not by much but his conversion of chances is better. Which just shows how poor Nunez finishing has been.
If Nunez had more consistent finishing, he'd be worth what Liverpool paid for him in the first place. In some respects hes one of the more frustrating types of striker. He does everything right, fantastic movement, good awareness of goal, good touch etc but give him time, and he will miss the relatively easy chance.

We're all getting excited about a bid that was refused.
Not a dig. I'm hoping something can be worked out. But probably more likely that was what we were willing to offer so now move on.
But surely if we have made a bid, that’s an opening bid and negotiation 101. It is an ‘if’ all the same though, I give you that.

I guess we’ll see…

Ambition and willing and ability to spend are actually more important. We dont ever really leverage qualifications for the CL to sign a higher caliber of player than usual.
I've been pretty on the fence with Levy/Board till now, think some of the stuff aimed at him is unfair, but I'm done with him (board) now we need to get rid, this window is feeble.

This was a chance to reset the club and we've done nothing of note

Zero interest in trying to kick on, would have thought we would have learnt from the CL final loss, seemingly not.

I still think Levy has done a great job with his remit, it's just ENIC and their model that is the problem. There's always excuses 'The cost of the stadium means we can't spend what we'd like', ' We can't offer Champions League football, we can't attract the players'.

It doesn't wash, regardless of where we are ENIC will always act in the same way. If we truly want to progress to consistently compete in this day and age that will require different owners with a different mindset. Us constantly behaving like an investment firm when it comes to acquiring players is not going to have us competing at the top in the modern game in the most competitive league in the world....

So how does it get fixed?

We have been linked with so many players today but it's not even worth posting about. Whoever we sign now feels like it's some last minute, under pressure, body in the door.

Hopefully they surprise us but I doubt it
