He isn't (and that by no means is claiming our are good), he's a 1 in 4+ striker that has 15+ seasons in PL with double figure twice (weirdly enough in last two seasons), Richi as e.g. has double figures in 5 out of his 9 seasons in PL.

Welbeck works hard, plays a part, but really shouldn't be anywhere near a side with any top 8 ambition (even in his prime)
They have vaguely comparable goal records but Welbeck is so far above Richie in terms of hold up and target man play that he more than makes up for the small short fall in goals. So yes using my eyes and watching both of them, if forced to pick between them Welbeck would suit better, cause fewer problems for the rest of the team and score a co parable low amount.

Would have to agree with this.

As an opinion, fair enough, but the last thing we need (or any top team does) is another striker that doesn't really score goals
