Transfer thread

Awesome, two players linked we have zero chance of signing

Tottenham want to add to their attacking options and have AC Milan's Portugal forward Rafael Leao, 26, and 24-year-old Real Madrid and Brazil winger Rodrygo among their targets. (GiveMeSport)
It would worry me if we signed Leao. In the CL games we played under Conte against AC Milan he looked to be one of those players that did some magical things with the ball, interspersed with some awful things but ultimately seemed to have terrible end product. Maybe he has improved since then but I think he would be an expensive flop in the PL.

But he’s been signed to play right so let’s not compensate. He could have a big ceiling on the right. Didn’t get to see it much at West Ham due to Bowens form.

We can’t rely on Johnson. He’s a good goal poacher but offers little creativity.

We've got 60+ games this season. With injuries everyone will get good minutes.

If nobody is suitable could see palhinha, bergvall and bentancur in the middle. Sarr swapping to keep things fresh. Think we'd still need another anyway though.
If that’s our middle of the park then my ticket might go on the exchange a fair bit.

Joking obvs but with Solanke up top that will be eye bleeding stuff for a team with Levy’s ambitions.

I'd love a great 10. I'm saying if there isn't any available i wouldn't mind that.

Quick transitions, goals and shots create excitement. Two quick wingers that can go past players. Goalscorer banging them in. The rest of the teams job is to get the ball and get it to them as quick as possible. No tippy tappy, possession crap.

Khannouss is as average as it gets. We need better than average.
I think Khannouss is a good player with a really high upside. I'd be more than happy for Spurs to sign him.

Another player that I like in the championship is Middlesboro's Finn Azaz. He was a slightly late bloomer being 24 now but is a really creative passer who creates lots of chances despite not being in a great team.

The player from the championship last season that I think we missed out on is Borja Sainz. A left sided attacker as opposed to a central player but very talented. Porto signed him from Norwich this summer for around £15m. I expect Porto will be selling him to the PL for at least 3 times that fee in a couple of year's time.

If looking beyond England for potential number 10 type players my top choice this summer would've be Alex Baena from Villareal but I just noticed that Atletico Madrid bought him for about £37m (great fee that!) Alberto Moleiro is another very good attacking player at Villareal but I doubt they would sell him having sold Baena this summer.

Another option would've been the Isreali playmaker Oscar Gloukh but Ajax snapped him up a few days ago.

And you all know my top choice was Enzo Millot who is moving to the Saudi league.

I also think Fabio Carvalho has a lot of quality. He moved from Liverpool to Brentford last summer, though I can't see Brentford being prepared to lose yet another player.

It seems we may have missed the boat somewhat when it comes to a bunch of promising attacking midfielders that were available this summer.

It might make sense for us to adopt the Brighton model of signing players before they are ready and loaning them out. The following are all talented young attacking midfield players who could be brought in via that method:
Santiago Toloza at Independiente,
Aimar from Osasuna,
Fabian Rieder at Rennes,
and Junior Kroupi at L'Orient

Suspect all of those could be purchased for reasonably low fees if we then left them at their current club next season. Doesn't solve our 'now' problem but does look to the future.

Baena is a name i've seen a lot as a highly rated player. Don't know a lot about him.
