Rumours of Brann's Signe Gaupset joining Spurs (Martin Ho used to coach Brann, of course). She's class. Really exciting player. Reminds me of Dele Alli when he broke through. Gutsy, got drive, does the unexpeted and isn't afraid to have a crack. Would be an excellent signing for the team, if we can pull it off. Lots of teams interested though, unsurprisingly.

Norwegian media reporting about it yesterday and today. Looks to be happening. She has said she is looking forward to working with Martin Ho again. I'm gonna start watching some women games just to watch her - by far the best Norwegian player during the euros.

Yeah, she's good! I think signing Gaupset is a statement of intent by the club. Record fee for a player in the Norwegian league apparently. Most of the top clubs in Europe wanted her. She wanted Spurs because she was promised game time by Martin, and that she loves the style of play he likes to play. I reckon she will go straight in there and rock it up. Really excited about this!

we have been in the wsl 5 years these things take time the more we win the more the fans will get involved. Scum have been in the wsl since the beginning & have won multiple trophies so it's not surprising the have a large fan base. It will take time & patience but we will get there

Yeah, I know mates who have kids that support Ipswich, United Mens teams etc. But they still support Arsenal women and go to their games a few times a season. Hopefully as the WSL gets more competitive at the top then that might change over time.

The main reason for high attendance at women's games is the price of the tickets. I say this as someone with two daughters and who had a family season ticket up till last season. I even travelled to watch them when they were playing out of Barnet.
The reality is that despite the narrative, women's football isn's well supported by fans, especially female fans which in reality will be the main market that is needed for the game to be successful. Waiting for male Spurs supporters to adopt the women's team and show the same interest and you'll be waiting until the end of time. If women themselves don't go and watch teams en mass, then the game doesn't have much chance of kicking on outside showpeice games and events.
The Brisbane Road situation is more a reflection on the state of the women's game then our fanbase in my opinion. Two seasons ago at the FA Cup final we filled out half of Wembley, so the "support" is there, but the product isn't, or rather the support is there when it feels like it.
Also we have one of the worst structures for women's football behind the scenes, our academy is way behind the other London clubs, now with the new Training complex on the way hopefully that will all start turning around, including turnover of playing staff.
