****Tottenham Hotspur v Man Utd********* OMT Official

2 wins and 5 draws from the last 16 games is shocking.

We’ve been averaging 1 point per match for 1.5 PL seasons now, so perfectly understandable considering the injury crisis hasn’t relented in all that time 🚑 Hopefully Xavi and Gallagher can fill the void left by the absence of Maddison and Kulusevski but Tel and Odobert are years away from providing the goal threat which Sonny (even in the twilight of his career) could provide.

Man U is a hard place to go, they were favourites, and in spite of the referee's decisions, deserved to win. Nothing out of the ordinary here, certainly nothing to hang Frank with.

On to the next game. For everyone saying we should sell Romero, you've got four games to see what life without him is like.
We've had a brick load of games to see what life without Romero is like already, this isn't his first suspension :D

I'm comfortable with selling him, we would get a good fee and we have solid defenders in Danso, Dragusin and potentially could look at the very talented Vuskovic. Sure Romero is good on the ball, but that's not enough to outweigh the rest of his game for me....

For a senior player now he shows no sign of change or leadership and for me I’d get shot of him. Too much of a liability and keeps costing us in what is a desperate squad right now it’s just another blow

I thought the idea of sacking the manager who actually managed to win us something to bring a new manager in was to improve our league form?

Now all the narrative ever is is one of 'Well we haven't been good for a while anyway'.....

Unfortunately because the transfer committee still haven’t purchased a midfielder with a decent range of passing we remain dependent upon Romero to play those line breaking passes from deep, well unless we waste Simons talent when he should really be playing further up the pitch.
He can't play them from the stands

I thought that Lewis’ kids were going to remove the remove the financial shackles which Levy had placed upon our transfer committee for all these years so that we would finally be BRAVE and sign PL proven players like Semenyo who’d immediately improve the first team, instead of constantly taking punts on youngsters who showed glimpses of promise in lesser leagues like Tel… plus we’d finally have 4 full-backs to rotate between so that Udogie and Porro weren’t run into the ground with Spence being played on the wrong flank… and we’d get a Wharton or Anderson for CMF so Romero wasn’t our primary deep-lying playmaker… then we could upgrade our GK to one who can actually pass to a CL goalie standard… seems that we were all sold a pack of lies and the PAINFUL REBUILD shall continue for another season &/or manager until ENIC fluke upon another combination like Pochettino + Demebele + Kane + Son etc who can get us challenging for the very top honours again without them having to dip into Joe’s £billions…

Someone posted a table recently that showed we pick up points at almost an exact rate with or without him - considering the amount of game time he misses it's not a small sample size either

Still 13 points to safety. Its going to be a long spring
There is no way anyone is going to need 42 points to stay up this season. 32 - maybe. Quite possibly less.

We've had far too many opportunities to see what life would be like without him. And selling him at the end of the season would give us the money to go and buy someone who is in possession of a fully-functioning brain.

I back Romero BUT he really fudged up this time. After appearing to call the owners actions in the transfer window a disgrace due to the lack of available players, he then gets himself sent off in the very next match. Not good.

Great player but also capable of stuff like this. I will back him still as one of our’s. But he needs to stop being so apparently reckless.

That was the aim. Made no sense to continue on after 18 months of poor PL form and terrible, naive performances. Hasn’t worked out as yet - and maybe it won’t. Doesn’t make the original decision any less correct though.

Absolutely, wasn't questioning the decision. Hence why can't use the excuse about how we've been poor for a while, the idea of changing manager was to get an upturn in results.

Which means should also be taken into consideration when talking about getting rid of Frank, there are no guarantees that equates to better....
