****Tottenham Hotspur v Man Utd********* OMT Official

Soooo....

West Ham Vs Burnley today
Palace Vs Burnley wed
Forest Vs Wolves Thurs

If the results go as expected, we're in a full on relegation battle, with loads of injuries and little fight in the team.

Genuine relegation fears

He is not worth the hassle, he is a rank average defender that is good on the ball.
His form in the league has been crap for a while now.
I think he's overrated massively on here in terms of his defensive qualities no doubt but I still just don't think that's a red. I wouldn't even if it had gone the other way around. If I'm kicking a ball my leg has to go somewhere, there's needs to be some acceptance that sometimes when you kick a ball another players leg may well either in the way or may be where the kicking leg ends up.

Thought we started well, then lost some momentum. VDV not quite up to speed, and seemed to lack a bit of Romero's forward momentum! :tearsofjoy: Once on the back foot, Romero is trying too hard to push it forward. Annoying as we were well in the game, but you felt momentum had turned. And we need Romero-like players who can wrest back control, and dominate. Now...we need to beleive we can win. And give it a shot.

Same sort of challenge as when Oliver sent him off against Chelsea. We should have kept him on the bench once we knew "Ollie" was ref.

Absolutely disagree mate. Studs were down, got ball, his reputation has done him there.

Yeah we’ll have to disagree on it pal. I think it’s a horrible, coward’s tackle.

I fully appreciate I bring bias to him - I feel the bad outweighs the good and I think he’s largely a liability, not the heroic maverick leader some on here feel him to be (not saying that’s you btw) - so maybe it’s impacting me here.

Red was super soft for me. Ball was there and he won it. Yes he went in hard but so did Casemiro. The other way around and I doubt it’s even a yellow.

The reaction to the challange from the players and fans makes a big difference.

Solank was wrestled to the ground in the box, probably wasn't a pen, but was worth checking with var. No crowd noise, no attention, no check,#.

You can argue whether it’s a red or not but there is absolutely no chance that was on purpose and that he knew who he was tackling.

I don’t know. He loves a dig at a Brazilian. Remember his mindless tackle on Richarlison when he was still at Everton? The ball was going out of play near the corner flag and Richarlison wasn’t any threat.

Why?

People have made up their minds on things like this. Facts are irrelevant....

Romero knew himself. Didn’t complain.

As a defender, if he doesn’t know who’s around him on the edge of the area he’s defending that’s not great.

I think that's completely accurate....but often times Romero goes in with extra unnecessary force. It's part of his tough guy persona (which I'm happy with btw) and this type of tackle and a red is a negative consequence.

The self inflicted problem is that it peaks the officials interest, in that yes he passes the test that he got the ball and his foot was low BUT solely due to HIMSELF he fails the unnecessary force and endangering an opponent element
