Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Licence To Stand

I’m at the spurs stadium tonight for the stray kids concert. My eldest is into k pop and the younger one decided she wanted to come too. As we saw a big poster of the band outside the stadium, the younger one announced in a loud voice it’s impossible to tell which band member is which as they all look the same 😬

7 game ban if we’re looking for consistency surely

Get into the shop and get her a Bentancur top...

Did they look the same? I could never tell one boy/girl band from another. They all sort of blended into one.

It’s because they’re k pop so from South Korea so I thought it was a nice reminder of the bentancur fun and games a year ago

The noise here is insane - not from the band but the screaming fans!

It’s beatle mania levels for a band you will never know

Doesn't matter where they are from. Jackson 5 or take that. All the same.

Don't know why these articles keep saying that the hotel is being built , the only thing done so far is extra work on the foundations as they added some extra storeys, so far there is nothing above ground level and Spurs haven't even announced which construction firm will get the contract.

The engineering on the plinth that holds the pitch must be crazy to hold all that weight. There can't be colums with the pitch sliding in and out, so how is all the weight of the towers supported? I guess the towers are on the periphery. Unlike a lot of these developments, the ground floor commercial spaces should be attractive and filled easily plus enhance the stadium - with places to eat, bars etc.

But pretty ugly and uninspiring design. Almost a copy and paste template of these cheap to build cash cows. Not much invention or flare to them imo.

What are the chances these high rises have commercial spaces on the lower floors? Bars/restaurants would do a good trade on match days

It maybe that THFC get/ask for dispensation not to, but normally it is mandtory - councils won't allow such developments without commercial spaces to create local jobs. Maybe Levy wants to focus spending in the stadium and will point to all the local jobs the club creates to get around this. But surely there will be a number of interesting places to eat and drink on the side of the hotel, on Park Lane etc.

They are fugly.

It'll also ruin the view of the stadium, which is currently completely standalone as the landmark in the area - storeys above anything else round there. And equally probably spoil the roof tour view back across into London. But I guess capitalism. Even Leyton Orient got its adjoining flats.

100% there will be more there, housing of that nature demands it as does the development of the destination side in the hotel etc etc
