That seems very much to be Pochettino's approach. Give a player a run of games to prove (and improve) themselves. Instead of chopping and changing every game.
I feel quite certain that both Bentaleb and Mason will also get run of games to do the same in the future. But right now Carroll is taking his chance and deserving his run of games. Though when Dembele is back I assume he's going to step right in.

A young lad who works for me in the warehouse, a Chelsea fan no less. He uses this CAM thing all the time when talking about football. I do not really care what team he supports but everytime I hear him say CAM it takes all my strength not to knock his fcuking head off.

He played very well against Monaco.
The game passed him by against Saudi Sportswashing Machine. And no, we didn't lose because of him.
He had a good game yesterday, albeit a few stray passes (normally forward ones). He chased Barkely successfully a few times yesterday and took one for the team. Most of us would be flattened Jonah Lomu style by Barkely.
Poch is pragmatic and fair and somehow has the nerve (ability) to give players a chance. eg He played against Saudi Sportswashing Machine because he was v good versus Monaco.
For the record, i don't think Tom will ultimately be a regular for us. BUT i had major doubts about Kane originally and also thought Moose would be surplus this season, so Poch probably knows better than me.
(although i did call Dier as DM back in July)

I was sat in the pub watching the game. there were two tables of "young" spurs fans on either side. They didn't stop slating him all game, saying they couldn't believe he was still on the pitch after the substitutions, saying how brick he was. they seemed to think they were watching a "brick" spurs side, though. I thought that Caroll was probably only just behind Alli as our best player yesterday. I was very disappointed with his performance against Saudi Sportswashing Machine but think that anyone criticising his performance yesterday is doing so simply because they have a pre-conceived idea that he isn't good enough.
Carroll was probably the player who was most involved in the game for either side. He contributed both in an attacking sense and a defensive sense. I would like him to be a little more bold and less safe sometimes, but I think that will come with experience and confidence. I can see why Poch likes him as he works hard, moves the ball quickly, takes up good defensive positions and always moves into space to receive the ball.

Just like on forums, in the pub and in the stadium. Stadiums are probably where you have the highest density of people who haven't got a clue about football.

There's a huge difference though. Carroll is on twitter. So he when opens twitter after having a good game he gets a load of notification on his phone from his twitter mentions (twitter mentions are any tweets that included @tom_carroll92 in the tweet).
So instead of the praise he deserves. He gets message after message of abuse from spurs 'fans'. The bigger and more successful we get the more or these dingdongs we attract from all over the world.
Carroll has sensibly taken to blocking people.
Yesterday after the game he had to deal with being unable to avoid reading messages like these

Totally agree that he had a good game. Admittedly, he started to tire around the 75 minute mark, and it probably would have been a good time to bring on Nabil, but considering it was only his 3rd or 4th 90 minutes of the season, you can understand that. For the life of me, I don't understand the criticism an academy player like Carroll gets (and Andros, as well) from our own fans. These are the exact kinds of players we should be supporting most, but they seem to get the most stick. Bentaleb and Mason also got hugely abused in his first seasons, which was a complete joke. If you don't think he's good enough, that's one thing, but if you enjoy slagging off one of our own Academy kids, I don't know why you support Spurs.
