The never ending cycle continues.Love your post. Plays with the emotions of being a Spurs fan.
In our hearts we all want entertaining football with success. Our path to finding that is a tough one. We've seen the last guy get the dials in the wrong place and lose his job. We're hopeful Frank can entertain us whilst making us a winning club.
Then we have the annual cycle of knowing that we never get all the signings in place for the season preparations. I've learned to live with that to be fair. If the MGW saga continues but we get him, I doubt I'll be thinking about that in a month or so. I'll just be ecstatic to have him.
You make it sound like the league season starts tomorrow!Looking forward to seeing how we go under Frank. Will be if anything interesting as ever.
A far more pragmatic approach will be welcomed by me.
For me it’s just a shame we did not have a couple more additions through the door for him to get going with straight away.
Ok .You make it sound like the league season starts tomorrow!
I suspect we will see massive changes this summer stillThe never ending cycle continues.
Just hopeful for a solid year. 5-7th i’d take that and hopefully the signs are we are heading in a good direction by season end.
Transfers is always the same. As well as bringing people in I was hoping we would have offloaded some players to. Bissouma and Richy need to be sold.
As I say an intriguing season ahead. Also looking forward to watching us again. Apart from Europa final it was all pretty dreadful for most part last season.
Here’s to 25/26
Yeah there's no chippiness, sullenness and narcissism. Which is basically what we've had since Poch left, with a brief interlude filled by Nuno getting f*cked over.Listening to his press conferences and it's such a positive change from the nonsense from the past few years
Mixture of the best bits of Ange/Conte
Clear communicator with a bit of humour
We get the 'It's like a breath of fresh air' type comments every pre season with a new manager.
The time to judge him is when the chips are down. Frank has never had the type of scrutiny, pressure and demanding fanbase that he is going to face here so lets see how he copes with that - that is not to say he won't be able to cope with it, but we will have to see. Everything is obviously going to look all rosy when we haven't even played a competitive game yet.....

Agree with all of this. It's just a case of wait and see, I won't be making any rash judgments either way. As a general rule, first season tends to go fairly well - it's that second season onwards where the big question marks come up. He's clearly a decent guy which will endear him a little more to the fans early on, but it will always be the results that end up being what steers the masses either way - a less likeable character who got us consistently winning would end up being far more popular than a decent bloke who was less successful.I was going to say exactly this, great minds etc etc As no "No sullenness", which managers have come into a club already sulking? I can't think of an example.
Perhaps it is worth noting that it's not always the same people saying it, but if you didn't like the personality / approach of the previous guy, the replacement's starting spiel before a ball is kicked is always going to be a tonic.
Maybe it's for the best but I doubt we're going to get any headline press conferences with Frank. From a neutral perspective, if things go badly people will find it interesting as it may show a different side of Frank as he hasn't been at clubs with particularly high expectations before as you allude to mate. It's a strange old part of the game, people will read whatever they want from the way a manager speaks to the press.
Don't forget the amount of people who jumped on the "We've got our Tottenham back" bandwagon for the first games under Ange because he was a breath of fresh air - Even the club / Levy leant into that one, and looked how that turned out.
Tbh with Frank he seems quite vanilla, everything's fairly predictable and sensible, but I do see nervousness in his eyes, moreso than with Nuno but I think it's genuinely just how he looks as opposed to him feeling overwhelmed by anything. Even if it goes tits up, it still will have made sense to make the move and secure a long term contract. That's not to say Frank is just happy to be here but it made sense to take the opportunity, Brentford are losing their key players. It's hard to get to the next level when that happens when finishing 9th, 16th, 13th, 10th in 4 seasons (not in that order) is considered a great achievement.
Yes they were yet you could find plenty of positivity around them at the start of their tenure during the honeymoon period. Hell, even @thfcsteff managed to talk himself round to accepting Jose in the early dayshmmmmmmmm Conte and Jose were always known for being miserable hahah

He's been mostly on an upward curve throughout his career and never been under any real pressure. So he hasn't been in a situation for a meltdown. Let's see how he is if/when we go through a bad patch. I do think he'll handle it well but you can't be sure until he's in that situation.Hahah I think you could be positive around them whilst reflecting that were very a tad "fiesty"
I don't think I have ever seen Frank have a meltdown or bite back to the press......................... *Spurs enter stage door right
Always the way with our fanbase. Manager gets all the support when we're not losing, then when things get bumpy, and it's the time they actually need our support, "get rid, he's brick".We get the 'It's like a breath of fresh air' type comments every pre season with a new manager.

Cue replies saying, "they have to earn our support by winning us stuff..."
