The Youth Players/On-Loan Thread 2019/20

Getting spanked. And to be fair, when we played them in the Audi Cup, their youth players looked excellent. But they pretty much hover up all the talent in Germany.
 
Only saw the second half but have to say Bayern looked fitter and faster and more tactically astute.

Looked like we were playing way too many long aerial balls out of defence most of which came straight back via their speedy wide men who outpaced us down the flanks time and again.

Their finishing was pretty deadly too.
 
I saw the first half. They looked strong across the field, whereas we seemed to have a few who arent quite at the same level
 
Would like to see a few loaned out if we are not going to play them.

Dont care if Poch does not approve. He is always talking about leaving so does not get a say on our future.

It would do the world of good to some of our youngsters to get some proper mens football experience.

All the ones overage are already out - 2CV, Marsh, Georgiou, Sterling and Amos

Skipp, Tanganga and Whiteman seem pretty integrated with the first team, so that's probably the best place for them to be learning. At U21, they'd just get kicked off the park in lower leagues. It would be about as much us as Clarke's loan is.

True. Rashford is an example of a player who didn't really look brilliant for the younger teams at Man Utd, but scored straight away and seemed to gain real confidence from that. It's a difficult balance and much easier to introduce young players to a confident, happy, winning team than ours right now. Especially young players who have had no experience of proper men's football out on loan.

Parrot played against Colchester and showed the difference between age group and men's football.

I thought Tanganga did ok in that game though (although we had virtually no defending to do so it was hard to tell).
 
QPR’s on-loan Tottenham youngster Luke Amos has recovered from a hamstring problem and been passed fit for Saturday’s game against Hull.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is hoping Amos can get plenty of first-team experience after spending most of last season out with cruciate ligament damage.

But the midfielder’s season on loan in west London has not been plain sailing so far and he was sidelined prior to the international break.

So too were Grant Hall, Angel Rangel and Matt Smith – but R’s boss Mark Warburton has all of them back this weekend.

Warburton told QPR’s website: “We have got a tight squad and we’ve had a couple of injuries recently but we have dealt with them.

“We lost Grant, Angel, Luke Amos and Matty Smith earlier in the season but we dealt with it. They are coming back and now we have some selection issues, which is great.”

Rangers will be looking for their first win at Hull for 30 years.

“It’s all about three points for us. History is irrelevant,” Warburton said.

“We can only control what happens on Saturday, so we have to go there and deliver a performance.

“We have to go there in the right frame of mind, prepare well and then make sure that we deliver.
