The Youth Players/On-Loan Thread 2017/18

Congratulations to our four World Cup winners from the Development Squad this year:

Josh Onomah World Cup Winner, England U20s, 2017
Kyle Walker-Peters World Cup Winner, England U20s, 2017

Tashan Oakley-Boothe World Cup Winner, England U17s, 2017
Timothy Eyoma World Cup Winner, England U17s 2017

Our U21s also won the 8-club Uefa U21 tournament in France this Summer.

Marcus Edwards also won the U19 Euros :)

Shashoa (sp?) was the one who put that corner across, brilliantly arced right into the centre of the goal, Tanganga rose above RM's goalie who claimed he'd been fouled, but it looked fair enough to me.

Yep, completely fair; a lot of the Real team complaining that we dared go within a foot of their keeper though!!

We've played some ok stuff - Edwards and Sashoua look lively, though I guess you'd expect them to as the creative ones

Was a free kick, not a corner. Well put in as you say and a good fair header.

Thought we started and ended the half well with a weaker period in the middle. Skipp got a real hold of the game in the last 10 minutes and that helped us a lot.

Edwards good and bad. We obviously look to him to create and he had some excellent involvements, but others where he really should have done better.

Just gone 3-2 up with just under 10 mins to go - Edwards with a neat little ball through to Sterling who finished well

3 years as Dembele Wanyama fade.....Skipp will be the one.

Another £50m saved.

Edwards and Sterling the difference makers when it counted.

Real put us under a ton of pressure for about 20 minutes there, but I thought our lads managed to turn the flow of the game quite well. Close fought game overall, we had the quality to win it.

Skipp looks a brilliant prospect. Only my second time seeing him, but a really impressive performance, only just turned 17 too. Some lovely involvements on the ball, always looking for the ball and a pass. Really looked strong and defensively good in the final 10 minutes when Real again put us under pressure.

Skipp does look good, and is only 17, despite looking about 45

Not seen many of the players in that. From the highlights I like the look of the big Number 5. Who is that?

And the Keeper looked a good height and pretty agile as well.

I thought it was an amazing win, we were so lightweight up front, and the failure of our players to retain possession put tremendous pressure on the defence. Both centrebacks looked good and Skipp worked hard. Edwards looked a long way from the first team.
