I mean...Sherwood clearly does like to bang his own drum, as Les says, but I do wonder if he deserves the sheer negativity he had gotten. His win percentage was good, and he makes a fair point that the players knew he was leaving. One of the reasons Poch was able to purge the club with such authority is because Levy had very clearly set a long term strategy and decided Poch was his guy. He stopped demanding instant top 4 finishes and realised the best way to get there was to build solid foundations first. And a lot of players came out saying ‘we can’t always blame the manager’ when Poch joined. He had authority, and he got it because of what had come before.
It’s about timing, and Sherwood was unlucky in that sense. But I do think he doesn’t help himself with his drum banging - it’s harder to take him seriously if he feels the need to defend himself all the time. But he may have ended up being quite a decent Manager somewhere. Faith in young players, attacking style of football. Maybe not to the level of Poch, because I think Poch is a smarter guy that is great strategically, thinking about how to build an entire club and that takes an appreciation of the bigger picture that I’m not sure Sherwood has. To be honest, as he says, he’d make a good technical coordinator again, maybe for a club like Norwich with a good youth system. But the top managers now are smart strategists as well as charasmatic leaders - he has some of the latter for the right group but not enough of the former for me.

He played suicidal football. A mix of 'Arrys "just run arand a bit" and Klopps "Banzaiii!!" without the skill of either.

Enjoyed a new manager bounce, but that soon wore off. Probably about the time the players realised he was never going to give them anything, no instructioin, guidance, development - but he would almost certainly hang them out to dry if he was in the firing line.
And to be this reckless, this devoid of actual nous and ability AND THEN use the stage to brag about yourself, take full credit for everything, and generally mouth off like a yob?
I dont think its unfair to suggest he deserves all the negativity he gets. His career since has hit the floor faster than I even thought possible.
As to Levys stance, it never changed. He always wanted a long term man, he always wanted to promote youth, to get top 4 finishes etc (I contest he has ever "demanded" them.) It was always the plan since Arnesen.
Speculating here - but IMHO Sherwood was given enough rope to hang himself. And potential a few players with him. It was widely reported he was stabbing AVB in the back all the while, I think this was a "put up or shut up" situation, with the outcome a foregone conclusion. We got through to the end of the season and Poch came in with almost a clean slate.
If Sherwood was a little more likeable, he might have been able to carve out a career as a Harry Redknapp type of manager. That's all he did really after AVB went, he kept it simple and gave the players more creative freedom. They were good players and were happy to be free of AVBs restrictions, so they responded and we got good results. Sherwood can take credit there.
But he behaved like a total bellend. Redknapp had his moments, but I never got the absolute seething anger from him that we saw with Sherwood. Sherwood made a tit of himself and Levy was very wise to cut it short, even if Sherwood can feel a bit hard done to as he had pretty good results overall in his short time in charge.

Im not Harrys biggest fan, not by a long stretch, but Sherwood isnt fit to stand in his shadow on the touchline.
I would probably agree with that. Harry built very nicely balanced teams over his career, when given the resources. Sherwood took over a group of good players who had had enough of the previous manager, he never had to make his own team.
But I do think, if he was likeable, he might have been able to carve a niche for himself as that type of manager (getting players to play at their level by letting them do their thing, not too tactical). Instead, he grates on people because he comes across as an arrogant, angry macaron.
