Some really, really awful draws possible in terms of distances.

Hopefully we’ll send a largely second string for away games and go much stronger at home

Win the home games and you’re through. Points away from home are a bonus

What those coefficients tell me is that this "competition" is us and Roma with some made up names to pack it out to last all season.

We should cut to the final with Roma, although our previous with playing "the kids" or " second string", I'm sure there'll be some massive fudge ups along the way!

Oh ye of short memory.
We're well capable of losing to a load of those Pot 1 and Pot 2 teams e.g. Gent beat us in 2017 at the height of the Cult of Poch with a team of:

..........Lloris
Walker Toby Dier Davies
Winks Wanyama Dembele
Sissoko Kane Dele

...then bringing on subs Eriksen and Son and we still lost!

With that in mind, Pochettino selected a very strong side - with only two changes to the team beaten at Anfield...But Sissoko looked increasingly lost, and the Tottenham head coach was prompted into more tactical tweaks...Nothing worked...Having gone into the match in Belgium as second-favourites to win the Europa League, behind only Manchester United, Pochettino's team now need a good Wembley performance just to stay in the competition.
...So we had a LOT to prove a week later in the return match at Wembley... which we drew 2-2 and went out of the Ropey League

This was the seventh consecutive first leg of a knockout match that Tottenham have failed to win in the Europa League (drawing three, losing four)
Tottenham have never won a European match in Belgium (two draws, three defeats)

That second leg was when Dele got sent off for that atrocious tackle wasn't it? So we played most of the match with 10 men.

But that aside, yes, never take anything for granted. We all know what can happen.

There are (were) CL qualifier loser drop ins as well.

Think it's 3 rd place (in their group) EL drop ins later.

We need to WIN our group as we then miss a round out.

Win your home games with strong line-ups, draw away games with weaker line-up....and almost certainly win the group without killing our PL season

That would be the plan.

Hopefully as things settle down our weaker line up won't look so weak. (Or like strangers to each other)

These games are really valuable in themselves to that process. It helps with fitness, integration, trying tactics/systems, pairings etc.

Yes this, I dont know why repeat the same mistakes every season.

You have at least 1 away game in which you can play the kids against 4th team.

Yes it was. It happened right in front where I was sat. Very poor game.
