The Official Olympic Thread

4-5 possibles in cycling: Pendleton in women's sprint, Kenny in men's sprint, Hoy in Keirin, Laura Trott in the women's Omnium (probably is a better bet for gold than Clancy).
The woman in the open distance swimming (forget her name, she's in the babe thread)
Three or more in the sailing.
One of the Brownlee brothers in the men's triathlon.
Canoeing: Brabants, McKeever

Mo Farrah in the 5000 as well, Ohrugu is defending tonight, the gymnast fella on the horse box? We still have more Equestrian to come and more sailing after today. Could always be more surprises as well of course. Boxing, we still have 9 competitors in it. Dunno if we have any chance in wrestling and taekwondo but it's all to come yet. Hockey?

Yup. Dressage.

'Charlotte Dujardin continued her remarkable rise to the top of world dressage yesterday by putting Great Britain in team gold medal position and smashing an Olympic record.'

Not forgetting Phillips Idowu, if all the talk has been wrong. Jess Ennis has said she's not going to do the hurdles though, which is a damn shame as she can win the gold there.

The jealousy in this thread is truely laughable, let us Brits enjoy our moment in the sun..

If you dont like it, dont look in here or post...SIMPLES

Everyone has a right to post here, Mark and we Brits should be able to enjoy our moment in the sun without being rude about other countries.

But its ok for him to be rude about us, of course yes..

What was it over indugent self wallowing in our success...

I find it interesting that people talk about a gold rush through home advantage. I don't think we have seen that. Most of the golds have been expected and many have been delivered in crushing style (Wiggins, the three girlie boats, the cyclists, Ennis). The gold-silver in the white-water was helped by a home course but they would have been in contention anyway. The only one who might have been lifted beyond expectation by the crowd is Rutherford.

Anyone watching Fencing? We are pushing Italy (the best in the world) all the way in the quarters, last bout and it's 35-35 COME ON GB

Another WR for Pendleton in the Cycling, Unreal !!!

Thats 10 WR's so far which have been broken in the Velodrome

Well apparently not, he's always had the ability and those in the know thought he had a chance

'The New Zealand press are having a field day.

Not only is their national team well above their neighbours across the Tasman Sea in the medal table, it appears to be denting the normally cheery Aussie outlook.

Australian official Olympic broadcaster Channel 9 apparently only showed the first nine table positions - not including NZ in 10th spot - and then Oz in 19th place.'

Amusing if true..
