The Official Knee Jerk thread

Too many things seemingly happen just to us

Players can no longer do what the did:

eg. Adebayor cant head the ball or hold it up - look at the two headers he scored against us for Real Madrid

Palacias could no longer tackle or pass - his first game against Arse was fantastic, after that I havent seen such a rapid decline

Bentley can no longer cross a ball - at Blackburn he was hailed as the next David Beckham

Parker cant tackle for toffee or pass forward (let alone score)at the moment - yet earlier in the season and for west ham he was theall round MVP

Dos Santos cant dribble or cross a ball - yet in the World cup and for Mexico he was sublime

VDV and Bale cant take dead ball to save their lives- they were once specialists in this field

Robinson went from King to Clown

Malbranque became the nearly man - everything he did nearly came off but not quite

Prince Boatang couldnt pass, tackle or head the ball - - but look at him now

Mido went from the "best header of the ball in Europe" according to Jol to a tub of lard

Postiga couldnt hit the net for anything in spurs colours, yet before and after us he couldnt stop scoring.

Managers who forgot how to manage

Santini, Ramos, Graham ....? Rednapp

Incidents

Ball over the line (Man Utd away) ball not over the line (Chelsea away)
Lasagnagate

And penalties that should have been given and not or penalties that werent that should have been. (Although I appreciate here that all clubs can point to these sort of incidents so I havent detailed all the decisions that went against us.

Any ideas why this should be so?

Ah, now you're talking MY kinda conspiracy talk!!

Personally, I don't think things have quite been the same since 'someone' told Gazza to do a job in the 1991 Cup Final and potentially ruin his, and our future... dunno what or who, but I wouldn't rule out Venables teaching Spurs a lesson for treating Gazza like the piece of meat-commodity he was at the time!!

Either that, or it's the price we've paid for 'throwing' the game against Man Utd at OT in 1999 after going 1-0 up, to ensure ArseAnal didn't win the league... (funny we've had SUCH bad luck against them ever since!)

...and don't even get me started about Lasagnegate!

IIRC we had a great Iversen chance late in the game for 2-2. And that was no conspiracy, just Iversen being Iversen, lol

Sorry I didn't mean that to appear as though it was you who said he was slow. I'll check out the dailymotion link at lunch. I can see where you are coming from though.

I think we need to address why there is lines between the defence and dm's especially when we deploy 2 of them in a game.

In a nutshell, it's BECAUSE we had two that this happened! Parker is naturally suited to being the mobile space-invader, which means Sandro is better off sitting deep all the time and picking off the play as it approaches...I really do not like both of them together...if Luka and Parker are in the middle, that space isn't left. Not Sandro or Parker's faults per se, it's the system's...and again, even after all that, what was Ledley doing?

20 fudging CORNERS IN A ROW CANT CLEAR NEAR POST. WHAT THE FCUK IS THAT HARRY?

FCUK OFF to the England Job. I hope they hire John Terry and Frank Lampard and be done with it

fudge OFF GOONER SCUM READING THIS GETTING 76 LUCKY WINNERS IN THE LAST fudging MINUTE

I would think we wont see Spurs 3rd in the table for the remainder of the season. More than likely on the morning on April 1st we will be 7pts behind them with a game in hand.
A CL place is still in our hands but we have to start converting chances and find some belief. City have done us a big favour, now we need to do ourselves a few.

Just cant see us getting enough points on the road, or Arsenal dropping enough points on the road for us to finish above them now.

4th place and an FA Cup final is still not beyond THFC. That would still be some achievement

Things I'm currently so tinkled off at:

1) Our inability to put the fudging ball in the net. Harry can moan all he wants, like after Everton, about us dominating, playing the game in their half etc, but it means sweet FA if we can't even create chances, or look remotely like scoring. VDVs goal was the most surprising thing about the whole match.
2) Corners. What else needs to be said. No point to them. I just can't understand it.
3) Stoke, and their brick football, brick goals, brick manager, brick style of play. I hate them.
4) Idiots who wore shirts saying 'Mind the gap' and brick like that, just because we were 10 points above the Arse in one season. How did I know that would come back to bite us?

Rant rant rant

When we were 0-2 up at the goons, I thought fudging hell we really are the real deal. We're playing brick and we walking all over them. How close the margins are. Closed that game out and we may have kicked on. We were becoming a confident side worthy of consideration for the league. That said there were some signs. I could bang on about these and why we're not performing as we were but will save that. For now I'd just like to say: fudgingn brick spurs. Angry and sad right now.

It's not the end of the world. If we fall out of the top 4 then Levy might be more inclined in taking a chance on Rodgers, a young manager that could potentially lead the club into the next generation. New training ground, new stadium, long term manager.

Do any of you idiots actually go to games or do you just sit on here and whinge like fudge about everything while watching from your 'rivers' wasn't long ago i was paying yes paying for the pleasure of watching gary docherty line up next to taricco and jonny jackson or don't any of you remember pre 2010 when i'd guess alot of you started supporting us? 5 points ahead of chelsea in mid march ooooooohhh terrible season

When docherty and taricco were playing chelsea were as brick as we were. So 5 points ahead of them was no big deal. But yes I do agree. Its just frustrating as we haven't kicked on or delivered on the potential.

And to sustain success or go forward, being the top tam in london was important...etc

Is it kneejerk to hope that the saggy faced **** fudges off to the England job and takes Ryan Nelsen and Louis Saha with him? (somehow)

I understand this is a thread to let off steam, but it's as pathetic as the let's laugh at arsenal one. You wanna throw the towel in every time it gets hard?

Get A Grip!

Rant over

No reason for the guy to leave Swansea. He's been allowed to build something there. Don't think we can click our fingers and he'll come running.

Every time it gets hard, get a grip, let off steam, and throw me the towel.

This. We have still come a long way. Yes, the last month has been disappointing, and it may continue through this weekend, but many would taken 2pts ahead of Chelsea with 8 to go.
3rd place is not gone, possibly 4pts behind come Monday, but Arsenal still have City and Chelsea at home. If they draw both those games. It could still be all down to who gets most points from last 4 away games

Not over yet. Stay positive, that VDV goal 'could' be a turning point
