Coventry GK is terrible!! Massive error for the 2nd goal, and an absolute clanger for the 3rd!
Heard today on the totally football pod that he is great and will be the future England keeper
Maybe it’s first game nerves at this level
But I do think the whole Coventry team are suffering

It's quite remarkable that the PL fixture "supercomputer" always ends up "randomly" placing Arse at home vs a relegation candidate year after year in the opening fixture.
16 home games from a possible 25, proper opposition few and far between:

2002/03 — Birmingham City
2003/04 — Everton
2005/06 — Saudi Sportswashing Machine
2006/07 — Aston Villa
2007/08 — Fulham
2008/09 — West Bromwich Albion
2012/13 — Sunderland
2013/14 — Aston Villa
2014/15 — Crystal Palace
2015/16 — West Ham United
2016/17 — Liverpool
2017/18 — Leicester City
2018/19 — Emirates Marketing Project
2023/24 — Nottingham Forest
2024/25 — Wolverhampton Wanderers
2026/27 — Coventry City

And our home openers in the same period, lol:

2004/05 — Liverpool
2009/10 — Liverpool
2010/11 — Emirates Marketing Project
2019/20 — Aston Villa
2020/21 — Everton
2021/22 — Emirates Marketing Project
2022/23 — Southampton
2025/26 — Burnley

Happy Premier League return day everybody (last night doesn’t count as no one cares about Woolwich).

Just about to watch the Hull - United game and looking forward to us getting back to business later. I’m not seeing much in the way of an opening weekend shock anywhere given the fixtures but will be interesting to see how new signings look at each team. I think perhaps if any top team is losing I’d be tempted to say City, but it depends how Bournemouth look after losing Iraola.

Glad it’s back!
