Aye.

Freshly new 3 year deal as well.

However I imagine the pay offs/continued pay is cut off to some degree when taking a new job ?

Forest agreed a 3 year contract. Terminating the contract should still mean they have to pay up. Unless he gets another job in that time. Or there was something agreed in the contract.

How fudging long does var need to look at a decision? First replay you can see that he got the ball, but they look at it another 47 times, then need the ref to look at it 47 times as well before making a decision. Shouldn't have taken more than 20 seconds to clear it up.

When it looks like it may go against one of the big boys they have to try every single thing they can to make it not be changed

I can’t believe that these owners pay up full contracts when they sack managers. Even the ones who know little about football know a lot about business. Surely they have some form of reduced payout in the event of a sacking?

97th minute, they are losing 1-0, one of their players does well to get a cross in and there are literally no players in the box.

Fulham are properly brick.

To be fair, Arse made them look like brick.

So far the Goons seem to be the only team in the league that are firing on all cylinders. For most teams that would mean lots of goals and flowing football - for the Goons it's scraping a lead off a set-piece and then just locking down the game, daring the opponent to break them down without leaving spaces at the back that the Goon attacking midfield can exploit.

It's not a pretty system, but it's clear that it's a superbly drilled one that is extremely tough to break down without putting yourself at risk.

That's not a pleasant thought - the other usual suspects (City, Pool) need to step up and find some consistency sharpish.

Because they all want to work.
If they just wanted to work then they'd be paid a lot less. A good manager is in demand. Hence being paid millions. They are not going to move home possibly country if they can just be sacked without compensation. Their agents would never agree to the deal.

They definitely get compensation. Without doubt. I just don’t believe it’s for their full contract. A few examples…

Moyes was only sacked when it was mathematically impossible for United to qualify for the CL. It was the following day IIRC. That strongly suggests that there was a reduced payout of his contract for failure to qualify. He was on a 6 year deal.

The strong rumour is that Amorim can’t be sacked until November as his contract says it’s a larger payout if he’s sacked within 12 months.

Alan Pardew signed an 8 year deal with Saudi Sportswashing Machine but IIRC, the payout clause was a very small fraction of that if he was sacked.

If chairmen had to pay the full contract, I can’t imagine they’d be giving managers contracts for any more than a year or two. The profession is too volatile to commit to a long contract and full payout come what may.
