The Official 2018/19 Premier League Thread

Thought the bigger talking point was the two free kicks leading up to the goal. The first tackle on Zaha by Milner the ref didin't give. 20 seconds later Van Arnhoult tackled Milner ref didn't give it, linesman did. That led directly to the goal. The one by Milner was a foul and the second one on him wasn't.

Palace got fudged by the worst in a pool of bricky refs.

The first one was a reducer by Milner, and the second was retribution. But yeah, the first one should have been given.

Taking away from the penalty controversy and how 'Mo didn't dive la', to those that watched the game how did Liverpool look overall?
In particular how are their new signings adding to their repertoire? Is VVD really looking the business now, compared to Matip?
Is Lovren now going to be getting splinters on he bench as long as Gomez is available to play?
How this Keita fit into the team compared to Coutinho?
Is Alisson a really big step-up from Karius and Mignolet?

Lots and lots of long ball to the front 3 again so didn't get to see much of their midfield.

VVD looked good against a thoroughly brick Benteke. Their defence looked very suspect in the channels.

Liverpool won the game in 2nd gear. Had a bit of luck with the penalty and Palace hitting the bar, but they were comfortable for large periods of the game. Palace were an organised Woy team, with plenty of athleticism, so this was a good result for Liverpool. Liverpool should finish in the top 3 this season imo.

This maybe should go in the jokes thread, because it's hilarious! Take a look, or rather, take a listen to these two castratos! If Carragher can manage to pitch his voice just a little bit higher, only dogs will be able hear him!
What a relief that would be!

Carra, so fudging stubborn! "Carra's power point presentation that he's been working hard on", "... should've brought that to Valencia" - hahaha.

I like the way he calls himself out over it, shows balls to do that publicly, the whining scouser sitting opposite him wouldn't

Love how by the end they're both chirping like soprano parrots.
