They are but I can't help shake the feeling that he sort of lucked into his current line-up and it clicked. Not impressed at all with him to be honest.

This, Man Utd spent pretty much £250m in a year on players, most of which were big names, it's not like he has turned around Accrington Stanley

Essentially United have spent £250 million on a title winning team and have a chance of second. While they had some players to replace they were far from their prime so matching their contribution with that money shouldn't have been so hard. It also seems the saviours were unwanted by LVG as he tried to replace them.

Exactly with how much they have spent in the last 2 seasons to be chasing second is absolutely pathetic really

they are a year behind Chelsea into a new manager, it would have taken a miracle for them to win the title this year irrespective of spend, you can't buy a team, you can only buy the bits to build one a bit quicker

getting back in the CL will be an impressive first season imo

I don't think I've ever seen the away section at anfield so small, even Fulham would take an allocation up to the goal, the Saudi Sportswashing Machine section doesn't even get to the 18 yard box, embarrassing!

As it stands currently, Saudi Sportswashing Machine are the worst team in the league, if you could choose to play anyone right now it would be them.

They've hit a winning run at the right time. Players are motivated as other teams are mentally going on holiday.

Yeah they have but I think that 'timely' injuries to some players have forced his hand in terms of formation and line up, and he sort of stumbled across a good formula rather than showing any tactical acumen in coming up with it. Neville has hinted at something similar on occasion.

One thing I will give him credit for is his use of Fellani. He's pushing him out to overload the RFB and it's causing all sorts of problems for us 4-2-3-1 types. It worked well against us and also caused City a load of similar problems yesterday.
