The Gym/Fitness/Health thread

Just did it mate. Have got 10,000 steps every day for a year. Next target 2 years.

If anyone is paying attention to the last date I didn’t make 10,000 steps, it was May 22nd 2025 - the day after our Europa win. The hangover killed me.

Ah mate that’s awesome, massive well done.

A lot of people refer to it as simply putting one foot in front of another, but it isn’t anywhere close to as simple as people assume, rubbish weather, Illness, long days at work, the days when you’re just tired and done with everything and you still get out there and get them ticked off, it’s a big mental challenge even more than the obvious physical one.

I’ve been doing a conqueror medal per month this year, so I’ve already got 5 in and ticked off, varying distances! Good way of staying motivated and at it.

Huge congrats again mate, go smash the two years.

I’ll throw a few into the mix
I turn 50 in august and have always had some crooked teeth so thought fudge it, I’ll get Invisalign
Started in lin feb and should be done by august and it’s brilliant and works so well
Having done in London as it’s 25% cheaper than Bedford, who would ever think that

Also been working out at home, as well as getting in many many walks with hound
Not lost a huge amount of weight but gained a decent amount of muscle
Now debating getting back to working with a PT to improve the progress.
do however have a regular hip and thigh pain which I’m sure is ITB issues. So I guess there is always a trade off

Also did a food allergy test with my daughter very late last year and found out we both have a very strong intolerance to yeast. Not great because it’s in so many nice things… cheese, beer… bread

We did a strict cut it out programme for 6 weeks whilst taking some bacterial additives. Cleared up that the tests but I now know if I have a drinking sesh with my mates I’m gonna feel it for about a week

So there you go

Onwards and upwards guys and gals
