What a tool. Pretty sure that since Harry's taken over we've received more in transfer fees than we've spent. Plus our wage bill is barely over half of Arsenal's.

Anyone would think we are Chelski or Man bricky the way everyone is going on about how much we've spent. It's our money, we earned it, get over it.

It's actually a bit closer than that, our latest figures show our wages were ?ú90 million (although a lot of that would be one off bonuses for the CL season, which won't be repeated in the following year's figures) and Arsenal's was about ?ú120 million. Still a big gap but it's not double.

Anyway, as Disco Benny says, we're spending money that we EARN so nobody can complain about it really. Unless they're an idiot :)

Yup. It's the difference between working your arse off over the years to finally earn your way into a six-figure salary, and having wealthy parents pay your way through life. It doesn't matter how much you spend, so long as it comes from the real lifeblood of a club - the fans - rather than some sugardaddy. That's why I'm actually a bit sympathetic to the gooners (compared to Emirates Marketing Project/Chelsea) - they pay ridiculously extortionate prices yet have to watch other fans celebrate their sugardaddy's gifts as if they had anything to do with their clubs' success.

The CL season is definitely the closest we've ever been in salaries. I can remember a time not so long ago in the Martin Jol era when we were paying under 45m and Arse were about 100m. 90m is about right for a CL club these days, considering the inflation in this industry and the fact that our rivals are all well over 100m. Even Levy is beholden to the market.

Bacary Sagna has told Lille winger Eden Hazard he would be making a big mistake if he decided to join Tottenham rather than Arsenal.

The Belgium international is one of the most sought after talents in European football at the minute and has been linked with the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal so far.
Hazard has admitted he would like to move to either Tottenham or Arsenal in the past and looks set to leave Lille, no matter what, at the end of the current season.
With the Gunners set to undertake a rebuilding process over the summer they could view the capture of a player like Hazard as a statement of intent.
However, Hazard has been priced at around the €35million mark and as such the Gunners would have to smash their own record transfer fee if they were to bring him to the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal would also face plenty of competition, not least from north London rivals Tottenham who are themselves looking to add to their current squad.
Sagna has now called on Hazard not to go to White Hart Lane and believes he will become a better player if he decides to move to the Emirates Stadium.
"I think it would be an error for him," Sagna told the Daily Mirror, when asked if Hazard should join Spurs.
"I watch the French League and Hazard is an excellent player. It would be a major signing for Arsenal, but it's up to different people to decide his destination."

Another deluded Gooner. Leeds has a great word to describe him.

Most of the players signed by Arsenal in the last five years have gotten worse after they went there IMO.

since 2006 we have a net transfer spend of 22 mil

and they have been, on average, spending 50 mil a season more than us on wages (that's 300 mil more approx over the same period, not taking their transfers in to account tbf)

?ú22m net spend in 5.5 years?? Is that accurate? If so that's just wow. Wages is always something that they forget to mention in discussion.
