Australia's first Test Ashes squad announced

Steve Smith captain
Sean Abbott , Scott Boland, Brendan Doggett,
Cam Green, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head,
Josh Inglis, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne,
Nathan Lyon, Mitch Starc, Alex Carey (wk)
Jake Weatherald & Beau Webster

I think the actual side will look something like this

khawaja, Weatherald, Smith, Labuschagne, Green, Head, Carey, Starc, Boland, Lyon & Hazlewood

I need TP for my bunghole time to beat them in there own backyard

Surely has to be the last Ashes series for Lyon, Starc & Hazlewood
3 massive gaps to fill in the future bowling department
Lyon he has been talking like he wants to play one more series in the UK. Will he be picked is another question altogether. Starc & Hazlewood won't play another ashes they will announce it just before SCG test so they farewell on there home ground

Whats the next crop of fast bowlers like for the Aussies ??

I'm sure there are some county sides prepared to let him warm up with them.

That inbred Labuschagne sneaked in then. He’s been pigbrick all year, must have hit a few in the last few weeks.
He has got 2 centuries in quick succession in shield cricket & has been playing solid cricket that's why they picked him. Question is does he open like he has for Queensland or number 4 my bet is 4 but we will see. People including me wrote him off far to quickly he looks a completely different player to last year. mind you test cricket is a different beast to shield cricket

Good question the short answer is promising at best.

As an example the stand in bowlers for this series are Doggett he is 31 & Abbott is 33 because there isn't a young bowler screaming pick me

I follow NSW & there isn't any player I can think of that is ready for test cricket let alone the ashes. Many years ago it was obvious as Cummings, Starc & Hazlewood progressd through the nsw pathways system they were head & shoulders above everyone else & were definitely going to be test players. now it's really difficult to pick any NSW bowlers & say he'll make it. Other states may have players in the pipeline but I haven't heard of any that are ready but I could be wrong

I think it's going to be more difficult to find test bowlers or batsmen as I am not sure kids even want to play test cricket it seems it's t20 over red ball cricket every day of the week.

i am Going to NSW vs Victoria on Monday & Tuesday SCG is free entry so why wouldn't you go.Lyon Is captain Smith, Hazelwood,.Starc & Abbott are in squad let's see if they play
