Yeah, But they also mentioned how Stokes and the England coaches had a different theory regarding the modern day cricketer. Something about how you wouldn't flog a star racehorse before a big race, you just get them in a good physical preparation and hold them back, raring to go and ready to unleash them...

I guess that's one way of looking at it. Maybe Stokes is a genius & everyone has been doing it wrong. anyone in contention for the ashes is playing shield cricket which seems a much better way to do it. guess we'll find out soon enough

Yeah, It's doesn't feel like the best preparation and they will be criticised for it if we get battered. I suppose at least the bulk of the group will be playing some cricket in New Zealand this month
