Duckett has looked shaky. Ffs.
Edit: it kept low. Sorry Ben.

100% 5-0 white wash. You can’t win series with Crawley and Duckett opening the batting.4 or 5-0 incoming
Sorry, I don't understand - why do you think a 6 over flurry was going to be some sort of game changer? That 6 over flurry, especially from our Zak, maybe be pivotal. Don't get me wrong. This test and series is Aus to lose now. Bur we have absolute super stars in line up to come. And they need to turn up. Also some luck
Cricket nerds. Those dropped short chances, bad captaincy or bad luck? I've just seen the short highlights but feels like too many
Neither bad captaincy or luck, lack of prep IMO.That 6 over flurry, especially from our Zak, maybe be pivotal. Don't get me wrong. This test and series is Aus to lose now. Bur we have absolute super stars in line up to come. And they need to turn up. Also some luck

Fair play - Of course a good start helps, but it was just 40 odd runs regardless of how quickly they were scored and we were still 120 plus runs behind. The Aussies were always going to fire back and when the deficit is the massive amount it was, you need more than a nice little startI was wrong I guess. It was just an opinion though. Good starts matter in my ciew.
All about momentum shifts in cricket, so I saw what you were getting at hombreI was wrong I guess. It was just an opinion though. Good starts matter in my ciew.
Looks like Hazelwood has had a setback but Cummins to return. Like you say we are away from home but these pitches favour seam bowling and our bowling lineup looks so much weaker without Jimmy and Broad and just bang average (kind of obvious I know), really need to unearth a couple of gems....Boland bowling so well. Imagine Cummins and Hazelwood on this track...
I don’t agree, they have been good for us.100% 5-0 white wash. You can’t win series with Crawley and Duckett opening the batting.
We struggled in Aus with two of our best in Cook and Strauss at times. So no chance with these two. Pope coming in at 3 also.
Our batting is not of a test standard. Our mindset is not test standard at times. Look at Brook great player but plays to many silly shots.
Bowling attack is ok.
So we need to start changing the way we bat lower down the order as we need runs from Brook , Root and Stokes.
Crawley and Duckett as an opening partnership ? Good ?I don’t agree, they have been good for us.
Think it's the bowling area that is weaker than the batting. The batsmen need to improve their decision making at times, but for me they are more talented than the bowlers....I don’t agree, they have been good for us.

They aren't miles off, they have a good average for opening partnerships. Obviously not in this Ashes series, but if you look at batting opening averages internationally they are up there in the top 2/3 and play the aggressive way that our leadership wants...Crawley and Duckett as an opening partnership ? Good ?
They are miles off a decent opening pair.
The only reason is because they are aggressive. Duckett not scored a run since India series. They aren't miles off, they have a good average for opening partnerships. It's all relative, they aren't miles off anything when compare them to other top international opening partnerships. They are far from perfect but the issues are far deeper rooted than our opening pair. The only reason is because they are aggressive. Duckett not scored a run since India series.
Test Cricket requires openers to play the conditions , bowling and a patience to match a monk. Neither have it. Pope also.
Regards to averages I don’t think this is a great era of test cricket. It’s moved towards bish bash bosh like shorter formats. Very few top opening partnerships about. Needs a reset. 3 day games these days.
I’m not sure really. He may well do. People have been fairly critical of the cricket we’ve played under him. It's all relative, they aren't miles off anything when compare them to other top international opening partnerships. They are far from perfect but the issues are far deeper rooted than our opening pair.
If memory serves wasn't Bazball originally bought in with this Ashes series in mind? If continues to go as it has done, is he likely to get the chop?
it’s called bazball and they are a fit for that style of play and hard to argue it has not injected some life into test cricket which internationally is ailing. The only reason is because they are aggressive. Duckett not scored a run since India series.

Let’s be honest who thought we’d go there and win a test ? I did not. Not this side in its current form. Only place it will win is in England.
