Surely it's what they would pay Toby that would lure him there, not what they might pay us.
(They would have to lure us to sell him).

Mahrez is quality, but I dont see who he replaces in the team. Its added strength in depth though.

Weakens Leicester significantly too.

Could see Leicester in a relegation fight minus Mahrez ..

But, bench is what makes the difference now, top teams aren't that far apart with first 11's, it's who you can ring off the bench. Look at the CL final, Madrid brought Bale off bench, who did Pool have?

Lesson for us there .. especially around bench options for Eriksen/Kane/Dembele

So that gets them a leg and maybe a boot at a push, what else would they like to pay for?

Certainly not underrating Dembele. Im saying Can is a very good player, and at 24 will improve. He is physical, more mobile than Dembele and like Dembele has skill - Ive seen him beat a player plenty of times. He wouldnt be a bad replacement at all for Dembele....

It's not a good idea to beat a player plenty of times!

Can see quite a number of panic signings from PL teams this summer. Timing is so tight - next season begins on 11 August so in a week's time we'll be down to a couple months to go...and for a lot of that, some players are going to be tied up at the world cup (few transfers happen during it).

Not really sure who's advantage or disadvantage that is...probably bad for cheatski and Arse given that manager change (or likely change) and therefore the new guys would want to bring in their own style of players. Less bad for us, Liverpool, Man U and Man C - none really need wholesale changes. My main concern for us is whether we can move quick enough

They got relegated too no? Relegated teams should be looking to rebuild with younger up and coming player rather than expensive PL ones, you'd guess.

Any of the teams who finsihed 7th (Burnley) through to 17th (Southampton) could use him. Could be an astute signing for Saudi Sportswashing Machine @Greg put a word in :)

No thanks.

I actually think he could be a good focal point for you. Playing every week under Benitez he'd excel. Settled, on his game he's a formidable forward. Just no pace.

No doubt he's better than what we've got but Rafa's system needs a very mobile striker.
