***Spurs vs Emirates Marketing Project***, PL, 23rd Aug 2025 at Etihad

good solid defensive discipline and we got away with some close shaves.

a few quick thoughts

- johnson sprinting to meet the ball to score - thats what he does best, but i thought he was a bit lazy in tracking back to defend or avoid the offside trap. kicking the ball away for a yellow card was plain stupid.
- richy is such a mixed bag - can't do the simple but can execute the impossible. also does he only head with the top of his head instead of forehead? he should have scored at least from a header today
- kudus motm for me - constant menace and so strong and hardworking. missed him greatly when he went off - we need to sign another of his callibre/quality
- spence, sarr and bentancur were trying to initiate stuff all game - we don't have a creative midfield but this lot makes up for it through sheer hard work and no lack of trying. i suppose having palhinha behind them helped
- odobert looks too lightweight and a bit lost. he needs to be braver and get involved more
-vicario isn't great with his feet and do we have another set piece taker instead of porro?

For some reason, our fans thought chanting “we want Levy out” when we were on the brink of the win was a good idea.

I’ve huge respect for the away fans but thought that was petty.
Shame they haven't worked out a song praising Levy for negotiating deals for Palhinha and Kudus.
If we don't want to block the path of some our youngsters to develop into PL standard players , I'm all for more loans for experienced players like Palhinha.

Can someone tell me what was going on with our pressing, like for the goal, when VdV was way up into their pitch by the looks of things. Not the only time either... I like it, but not sure I understand it.

Absolutely comical that a no mark club wins the lottery, dominates English football, humiliates their main rivals, even equals their biggest achievement, and they still aren't happy.

Football fans...

If I was a City fan I would be absolutely livid with the return for the money spent.

They should have won 10 European Cups by now and twice as many league titles.

I’d have been Pep out for years.

I read that City fans staged a protest and entered the ground late today, it was not mentioned their protest included leaving early.

Wtf have they got to protest about?

Entitlement of a lot of fans. You are entitled to nothing. If you pay for a ticket you are entitled to go to the game. You pay £100 for a shirt. That's what you get. Nothing more, nothing less.

Frank LOVES the aggressive defensive press, right up the pitch.
He always talks about going man man.
He says it is more fun to defend in their half rather than ours.

The only issues they caused were from us being dim

That is a great position to be in this early into Franks time here

Will only improve with upgrades and more coaching
