*******Spurs v PSG*******Official OMT*******

Against the Goons it was knocked directly to Richi who can't hold it up. I'd expect there to be plenty of space for us to knock it into space for whoever is up front to run onto rather than bang it into them to hold up. But maybe just wishful thinking....
You need accurate long passers for that. We only really have Porro who is somewhat reliable in that regard. It's also a lot to ask a FB to consistently play that kind of pass. This is where the lack of a switch passer (been calling for this since Ange's first season) is an issue.

It's kind of crazy that for a team that has CL ambitions and regularly plays European football we don't have a single passing specialist in our midfield options. Our squad building has been diabolical and incompetent.

Yeah I'd hope so. But Frank is wedded to his ideas imo and won't change the style. Low risk will stay.

There in lay the problem with systems managers, great when it works not so when it doesn't, I'm bedded into an era when the players mattered more than the manager. I think football has become so boring only 4/5 of the same teams trying to win league with 2/3 with realistic chance, the rest hoping to stay in league, virtually every game the same, apart from the shirts I dont know who's playing in most games, same tactics and robots.

Might have if Gray played
Maybe, he is the one who does seem to show some potential in that area but I'm a little unconvinced if I'm honest and even then he's 19.

No problem with his age but really, we shouldn't be trying to rely on a 19 year with an indeterminate position (is he a RB, DM CM etc) and skill set. if I look at Gray I don't really see someone who we can run a game through and that's not unusual he's 19 years old and still working out what he actually is.

We should have flipping starter with these attributes and then Gray as the younger guy bubbling under, getting games and minutes where appropriate.

Its still diabolical squad building.

That's what happens with squads when you change managers so often, since Pochettino left I think we've lacked identity and selected managers who need specific players for their systems rather than a manager who can build on what we have and identify where we can improve the squad.
