Sofyan Amrabat

Tottenham have 'allegedly' reached an agreement with Fiorentina for midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.

Loan with option to buy would make sense

Would put pressure on him to perform, and give us an 'out' if he doesnt

As others have said, anyone with a pulse who Conte wants is better than Dele, Ndombele and GLC

One who seems to be more highly rated by scouts and coaches than he does fans (which isn't a bad thing). Just disappointing that we're doing a deal like this while Saudi Sportswashing Machine are busy buying a genuinely top class player who plays the same role.

Just watched a YouTube video of him, so I now feel fully qualified to offer my opinion.

pros:
looks to have a pass on him. Seems to have good balance and upper body strength. Makes a lot of stand up tackles which suggests decent positioning. Dribbles are based on strength and hip swerves rather than anything too flashy.

cons:

makes an awful lot of dribbles near or facing his own area, which he seems to just about get away with… but this is a highlight video… so what about the times he didn’t, or won’t with the superior press in the prem.
No exceptional pace.
Didn’t see any of his goals - which is unusual for a highlight video.

Thing thst worries me is he made more fouls than tackles last season. How that is even possible i don't know. In a faster premier league?

Fools game to worry about what Saudi owned Saudi Sportswashing Machine are foing in comparison
Why?.... I've been told on here that they can't go around spending lots of money because the FFP rules won't let them.

They are in the process of spending £40m for a (very good) player in a position where we really need a very good player.

The same people who say it's a fools game to worry about what Saudi Sportswashing Machine are doing are the same people who say that good quality players are not available in January.

Based on our transfer history, I suspect that's more comprehensive that most of our scouting reports. Thanks!

Firstly quite a few of those fouls given in Italy aren't being given in the Premier League, where no longer does a player falling over after minimal contact automatically count as a foul. Secondly it's probably not that unusual for a central midfield player to commit more fouls than win tackles, especially if they are playing as the deepest midfielder. The most important thing is stopping the attack, so you either win the tackle or give away a foul to stop the opposition having a good chance.

They can spend around £400m and still be within premier league spending limits i believe. Would mean they wouldn't be able to spend anything the next 2 years though. Ffp only accounts for clubs in europe.
