So, what happened today?

I was there too.

I saw them a lot back in the 90’s and 2000’s, was worried they would be an imitation of that.

But they were fudging on it, they were brilliant.

Mental how much things cost now though, paid £26 the first time I saw them, over £200 tonight.
Yep
£180 a ticket
£7.50 for a brick beer
Also drank hooch… haven’t drinks that since I was 18 so a long long time ago
Sounded great
Liam really engaged the audience
And they sounded great
@Juicebox what did uou make of it?

Touring is artists/bands main source of revenue now. Used to be album/single sales but now stuff gets streamed they make relative peanuts from likes of Spotify etc and releasing the actual music becomes an advert for the concerts where they make their real money.

Plus COVID knock on effects for artists and venues
Plus rents for music venues going up
Etc etc.

£15 is normal for a cover band now.
£40 is a "normal" gig (medium size band, medium Venue)

Merch was always the profit area. Still is. But it does seem like ticket prices are helping the revenue stream.

Lovely morning, watched Spurs have a run out, England tick all the boxes in test and Lions beat Aussies in last minute and their skipper moaning at the score was the icing on the cake, I'm knacker need a nap before next two sessions of test and Luton game.
When are you catching up with the cycling then?

@Bedfordspurs @Baleforce @Juicebox glad you were there, yes, they are well well well on it, I was at the Cardiff opener July 4th and was literally blown away by how much better they were than any other time I've seen them...these are such positive vibe events too. One thing which remains crystal clear...Noel is obviously the main songwriting/lyrical architect, but Liam is the X factor connectivity between those songs and us. They need each other (as a certain song suggests...)...

Another protest against asylum seekers today, outside a hotel in Norwich.

It’s funny how the organisers always open with “we’re not being racist, but…”

I liked the one in Nottingham today (borne out of Lee Anderson being given info by the police about an assault and being told not to share the information so as not to prejudice the case - which he of course did) - where the local Wetherspoons refused to let in anyone with a flag, so now there’s a call to boycott Wetherspoons. I mean where are they going to go?
