Note to all new members

Everyone who signs up to this forum automatically goes on post moderation for a period of time to weed out wind up merchants and spam. You will have your moderation lifted after a few posts when we determine your intentions. Please bear with us on this, your posts have been made and when an admin is available we will approve them.

Infraction points

This site operates infraction points which work a bit like points on a driving license. Breaking the site rules will result in infraction points being issued. Below are the infraction points that you can expect to earn for breaking the site rules.

10 points minor violation (expires after two months) - niggling, taking threads off topic, carrying on disputes across threads, taking the man not the ball, frivolous reporting of posts, arguing with administrator actions
30 points (permanent - never expires) - medium violation - breaking the site rules
100 points major violation (permanent - never expires) - sustained, repeat or aggravated violation of the site rules

Below are the punishment that will result from hitting set infraction point limits

30 infraction points - one day ban
60 infraction points - one week ban
90 infraction points - one month ban
120 infraction points - permanent ban

When you are banned from the site you are unable to log into your account, so you cannot read or send PMs or post on the board.

Site rules

1. General behaviour

We all have a responsibility for what we say, how we say it and how we interact with other people. The admin team want to make Glory-Glory the best place to talk about Spurs on the internet and somewhere where people from all backgrounds and walks of life feel comfortable expressing themselves and sharing their opinions. Posting in a positive manner is strongly encouraged and makes the board better for everyone.

If you disagree with someone, explain why rather than being dismissive. Posting in an aggressive, hostile or dismissive manner gets people's backs up, creates a hostile atmosphere and ruins threads. Basically, do not say something on the board that you would not be prepared to say to someone's face.

The admin team are here to keep the forums running smoothly, if they ask you to do something or offer advice on how you are posting please follow it.

If a thread has locked because it's got out of hand, do not start a new thread to continue the argument or carry it over to another thread.

This is a forum for everyone, not your own personal battleground.

2. Personal Attacks

While you have the right to disagree strongly with any poster on any point, personal attacks will not be tolerated.
This includes calling another poster an obscene name, posting hostile rumours about a person, posting pictures of a poster which cause offence to the person in question, targeting a poster with numerous negative or snide comments and anything else agreed upon by a majority of administrators as constituting a personal attack. In short: Play the ball, not the man.

Banter between posters is fine but to be banter everyone has to be in on the joke. Banter is not an acceptable excuse for abuse.

3. Discriminatory language

Glory-Glory is used by all sorts of people from all sorts of backgrounds and abusive, discriminatory, derogatory, racist, sexist or threatening language is not welcome.

We will not tolerate abuse using racial or other discriminatory language. Any infringements of this kind will be treated as a major violation or outright ban.

4. WUMs and trolls

People who deliberately seek to wind up other posters or who repeatedly post the same thing across multiple threads are unwelcome here.

If you suspect that a poster is acting as a wind up merchant or trolling don't respond, but please report examples to the admin team. The admin team will consider the matter and, if the majority agree, the appropriate action will be taken.

Acts of trolling are designated as such by the opinion of the admins. These are not open to debate and if your behaviour is continually detrimental to the quality of the board we will take action.

5. Libellous and defamatory statements

Defamatory or damaging remarks are the responsibility of the poster and the admin team, so please think before you post. Anything that could cause Scaramanga or the admin team to be the recipient of a libel lawsuit will not be tolerated. We are monitored by clubs, media monitoring companies, PR agencies and agents, so your harmless banter could easily end up viewed by the wrong people and we are legally required to provide details which would make you traceable by the authorities.

Accusations which are made without facts or evidence have previously resulted in contact from legal teams on behalf of those accused and could lead to the forum being sued for damages. We like to think that we promote free speech here, but recent changes in UK law have led to libel suits being taken out against forums and we do not want this repeated with Glory Glory - it would mean the end of the site.

6. Obscene images

Many people access this forum when at work or at home where children could be present. Please do not post images of a sexual or obscene nature on any forum other than the Vice Den.

7. Avatars

This site is a site open for use to Spurs supporters of all ages including children. It is also used extensively by people in the workplace. For these reasons avatars are not allowed to contain nudity or obscene/sexually explicit content. This includes cartoons.

Provocative avatars which may lead to arguments on the board or result in threads going off topic are not permitted.

Complaints about unsuitable avatars should be PM'd to an admin who will decide what further action to take. If an avatar is agreed to be unsuitable the member in question will be asked to change the avatar, if the avatar remains unchanged then avatars will be disabled for that member.

8. Links To Streaming Sites

We have been informed by the club that it is illegal for us to promote/advertise links to streams for games. It is against the site rules to post or request links to streaming sites. If anyone sees it please mention it to an admin and they will delete the thread.

9. Adverts/Scams/Affiliate schemes/etc

There is no place for any of this in our forums. Please do not post anything to do with the above without the explicit permission of an admin. If anyone sees it please mention it to an admin and they will delete the thread.

10. Tickets

The resale of tickets to football matches is an offence under section 166 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994. The club monitor this site to ensure that we do not breach this law. Please do not offer to sell, lend, swap or give tickets, membership or season tickets on this site. It is also against the forum rules to ask if people have tickets, season tickets or membership that you can borrow, buy or swap.

11. Multiple Accounts

Everyone is entitled to a clean break. If you have not been banned from this site you are free to rejoin under a new name but if you do, the admin team ask that you PM one of us and let us know who you are. People who open multiple accounts and don't contact the admin team risk having their new accounts deleted, blocked or merged with their old account. Any infraction points issued under old accounts will be added to new ones.

12. Abuse of Post Reporting

Genuine reports of posts which break site rules are welcomed by the admin team but the abuse or frivolous use of the tool is against site rules. It wastes the admin team's time and is in effect spamming the board.

13. Complaints about an Admin's Actions

We as administrators are not perfect. However, if you feel that you have been harshly treated the public forums are not to be treated as your personal venting space to attack a single admin or the admin as a whole.

Complaints about an admin's actions should be PM'd to another admin who will decide what further action is required. If an administrator agrees that the action taken was unfair then the admin in question will be warned and a public apology issued. Continued unnecessary actions from the admin will result in a removal of admin status.
