Sick sick world what is wrong with people

Not saying what was right or wrong, just saying why (from what I remembered). Given the example of Iraq, going in all guns blazing might not have prevented the civil war or the hundreds of thousands of lost lives and displaced people.

Who gets to run it is often what is tolerable to US and/or Russia whether they had a previous bounty or not.

So essentially the West just changes regimes to equally zhit despot, so long as they get control of resources and alliances (and this is questionable). At the cost of hundreds of thousands of lives and annihilation of parts of the country. Was it worth it?

Iraq spawned Al Qaeda. It wasn’t a success either.

The "Great Game" - been going on for centuries. Geopolitical and economic control is all that matters and the number of people who die, be it the young of ones own country or the multitude of unnamed of foreign countries, to keep the Establishments well fed and oiled doesn't matter.

No, none of it was worth it. I can't think of a 'super power'/western/colonial or imperial intervention which has been properly beneficial to the people living on the ground.

China is much maligned too, but they are the only great power who seem to have their hands clean, in the sense they aren’t engaged in external wars and selling arms.

They are about 6% of the global arms export industry, more then UK for example but the USa are still the biggest sellers of death around the globe.

(And Tibet might question the external war bit, but agree they are doing most of their work by soft diplomacy and economics through their Belt and Road policy of economic investment into poorer countries).
