I'd give the team an average rating of 6.5, and Lamela scores an 8.

Paulinho also made a difference when he came on, just by his instinct to get into the opposition's penalty box. He gets a 7.

Walker -6 average game. Needs to improve his crossing.
Kaboul - 6 Feeling his way back
Verts- 6 largely untroubled
Naughton 5 out of position and offered no width going forward
Capoue 6. A mini beast. Looks to get ball forward faster
Dembele 6 Had a majestic first 30 mins playing further up the park then faded into obscurity
Lammy 8 mom. Scored and made penalty. Constant threat with his dribbling. Really pleased for him
Eriksen 6 Tried hard but nothing, absolutely nothing coming off for him. Corners poor again.
Sig 6 not too involved . Didn't impress or impose himself. Totally out of position when on right.
Defoe. 6 Missed a chance in first half. Not much otherwise. No real presence or movement

Paulie.6 Looks pedestrian in middle of park and slows our tempo. Comes alive in box and had two reasonable chances.

Overall, started game well and deserved to win. Lammy the standout player. Really hope this game kick starts his Spurs career.

Good point about Paulinho. Getting that extra man in the box made us far more likelier to score.

[Spur of the moment]

Great admirer of Eriksen for whom I have high hopes but tonight I'd only give him a 5 as I thought he was mostly poor. Too often caught in possession, too many careless or misplaced passes and not involved enough, although he did get better second half and had some sort of hand in the first goal.
