I don't think many/any? Are upset about backing the manager and showing that we are prepared to spend big in doing so on individual players - these are main the positive takeaways from the window.

But spending big and backing the manager doesn't win you games - you need the team & squad assembled to do that and this where i think the question marks are. I see a great deal of turnover but not a lot of improvement.
 
i don't think the players know what dezerbi wants out of them
i see no patterns, no set piece drills, and a lack of understanding between players and roles

a match by match improvement, but it was more about the quality of players
but overall fitness is poor and all the players get pushed around on the pitch

disagree re patterns, there is plenty of passing and movement, it breaks down on final pass/opposition third.

didn't see us unfit, but obviously based on selection/subs, we are still managing a few players.

Forest at end of first half had 12 fouls to our 4, and we had a yellow card, without us as a club making noise publicly, not sure how you counter this.
 
Clearly trying to get team to play his version of perfect football
Issue is
Goals come from mistakes
It’s very slow and ponderous football that doesn’t force the opposition to do anything
Starting without a CF is daft and Marnoush is not one And never will be
For me people can dig out the players as much as they want but the style of play is killing us

I know its a work in progress but we were better at the end of last season to this IMO........

Yeah the concern is we play waiting for the press to play around.

And if it doesn't happen? not sure what the plan B is

We can pass, we can hold possession, we can get the ball to our 10 or wide players, after that it seems to fall apart.

Long way to go, but definitely some odd selection and sub choices are not helping

I mean it’s really early in the season and he’s not been allowed to put out a proper side yet. Hopefully next week, 1 month into the season, we might see a starting side that isn’t having their minutes being managed..

What do you mean he hasn’t been allowed to?
He has had plenty of options and imo he is taking the lowest risk option every time

This is exactly it. If a team plays a mid block (like Saudi Sportswashing Machine did) ...there's little to play around, and you end up horseshoeing it if you're not into taking risks.

Watch most of his Brighton videos and it's all about baiting the press.

We need quicker triangles and/or accurate vertical passes to the centre midfield 3 or even the CF to break the lines. We are seeing very little of this, and it's down to movement.
A sharp diagonal out wide or Kinsky dropping one over the top is good as well.

I don't think players have to be amazingly technical to get this done (his Brighton team done it)...the players who receive it at the sharp end do. (And also be good decision makers)

Edit: I'm not saying we should be seeing this right away...but progress/evidence towards it.

The other thing I'm concerned about is RDZ hasn't been out of this league for long BUT in that short time he has it has changed, so I'm hoping he's not caught out or surprised about the physicality and set piece addiction the league is currently hooked on

I think you're overthinking there Ricky - Any professional European coach would be more than aware of this, not to mention Marseille played Saudi Sportswashing Machine last season (and beat them)....

I thought we were physically very comfortable today, didn't lose duals, were in and biting hard, and actually defended set-pieces comfortably despite being out-matched on paper in terms of height.

I am more concerned about our FB options than before the season started. We built through that first 60 mins to the place where we should've been pushing on. Instead, Robertson came on and we immediately lost both impetus and solidity. I think it's a concern (and I was a fan of Robertson coming in as much as a bench presence as anything).

I thought the energy was good today...and the midfield did a good job of making our defenders game easier. (Which isn't something one could say most weeks)

Was the difference perhaps that against Brentford we were very entitled. We expected the opposition to let us play as our manager had instructed us toi and when Brentford got in our face we didn't own it. I thought today we owned that much better and got stuck in more.

One thing I would like to see more of is our players getting in the face of the referee. Forest did it all game. Every single player. RDZ needs to put his leaders on that pitch on the offensive against guys like Pawson. He reminded me a little of Mike Dean today when he booked Fernandez.

"There's another £80m player that I have booked. Another notch on the old bed post"

Dean would have been proud of him.
