It's far more concerning if you aren't putting in performances and getting some fluke positive results than if you are putting in performances and not getting what you deserve because eventually it evens out and over the course of a season you will get roughly what you deserve. Just a side note, but whilst some of the sides aren't top top sides they have certainly been bogey sides of ours in recent times - Villa and Saudi Sportswashing Machine plus Man U at Old Trafford is hardly a gimme for us no matter how brick they are.

Not aimed at you but I do find it funny that a selection are already coming close to calling time on RDZ are those who were asking Thomas Frank to be given more time The football we have played bar first game this season has been far far better than what was served up under Frank and I'll eat my hat if we aren't mid table or better come the end of the season. Feel free to come and quote me at end of the season on this :D .....
I think we could be the exception to the rule this season - as i said in the match thread goals win games and if you don't have goals in your team then you will struggle no matter how well you play. It's good that we are doing well in the middle of the pitch and if we continue to do so it will show that the approach has potential, but without the means to turn that good play in to 2 or 3 goals a game regularly it's going to be a long and frustrating season.

Of course that's fair, but I think there will be several who step up with a few goals and overall we will score a decent amount come the end of the season rather than the usual 2/3 suspects we've had and relied on in previous era (and pretty sure how it was for RDZ at Brighton).

But let's see, just my opinion....

everything is clicking now and player fitness is still progressing - kinda shows that players wasn't fit for the start and hopefully management learns a thing or two.

wining games now down to players doing their parts - especially in attack

It's also to do with RDZ picking our best players and options to maximise what we get in the pitch.

This time last season after 6 games under Frank we were 4th in the league and on 11 points. I’m certainly not calling for RDZ to go, but it seems fair to be reserving some judgement at this point, given that we have 3 points from a possible 18 and are currently lying in the relegation zone.

There’s some good signs around the football we’re playing, but some serious questions to ask about our preparations for the season, both on the pitch and at a squad building level.

I also hesitate to take too much from yesterday either; United are seriously bad.

we have never played better football under TF than in yesterday's match. it was even better at with a man down

All well and good - but we’ve dropped 15 points out of 18 available and are in the bottom three prior to playing any of Arsenal, City, Liverpool or Chelsea.

We obviously need to give him time, but it’s not been the start any of us hoped for.

In AVB's time, it was the match at Old Trafford where Bale retired Rio that was the turning point. Here is to hoping similar for the Spurs boys. We need to start picking up wins from future matches.

I would have been nice to get get 3 wins which I think our performances have deserved at the least. I'm kind of willing to accept the pain because I did think this season was going to be a turbulent one so I'm not surprised it hasn't really flowed. Tbh I was probably expecting a few more points at this stage but not the performances.

Few good points already made.

My own summary:

Yes, we are playing well. But we’ve seen teams that play well finish very low down the table in seasons gone by, even relegated. Two reasons for that, no quality up top and powder puff at the back. We’ve shown signs of both. The forward line does worry me - we need to get half a tune out of Solanke. His complete lack of intelligence when shooting or making runs is frustrating. He trains all week yet still runs in the the box behind the defender so it’s not physically possible for the wide player to get it to him.

In defence I think it’s ok, not much between the central candistes. Hopefully Porro back soon and Udogie was good yesterday. We’ve been solid in two clean sheets before yesterday and kept Utd to a very low xg at OT. Some disasters in there but we’re not terrible and our midfield do a good job of protecting the defence.

As the season progresses, many of the better sides will have Europe and EFL. This will suit us. With the squad fully up to pace, we should control lots of games.

Hopefully we add some goals in January but I won’t hold my breath. The recruitment team and leaders have shown no competence at all. And on that note, the start of the season should be looked at. Being unprepared for a premier league season is diabolical. If we do that every season we might aswell not bother.

All in all, weirdly I’m enjoying watching us. And it would be hard to argue that RDZ isn’t getting his coaching across. Let’s hope we covert that into win against Cov.

He's 29 years old. It's not going to happen. There was a chance yesterday when Savio had burst into the box and played it across the box to no one in particular and got a bit of criticism but really when you looked at the moments flipping Solanke had positioned himself in a space where it was virtually impossible to get he ball to him. He's very unintelligent when comes to making tubes or offering himself as a genuine attacking threat.
