Richarlison

Richarlson has had some real bad luck on the injury and personal side. He has ability but is not fit enough to get a run in the side. Great attitude and will work his socks off but sadly it seems he will never be a regular player. Probably time to move him on.
maybe he is unfit but he has always been slow and not exactly good in the continuous high press. not exactly dominant in the air too despite his build. i don't think he will be in TFs plans for long

If he was ever actually fit for an extended period people realise hes really not any good. The single best thing for his Tottenham career so far has how often hes unavailable.

Fantastic tonight. He's never going to be the prolific number 9 we need but GHod he works hard and is so much better than so much of the rubbish written about him here and elsewhere.

In theory he’d be great as a backup to come on after 80 mins and bully defences. His problem is he’s rarely fit for a sustainable period of time. And as you mentioned, he’s not prolific.

He's injured way too often but that's not his fault and I'll never dig a player out for it. I can't imagine how frustrating it would be. When he does play, he plays with 100% effort and commitment so he'll always have my support and respect.

It was a really good performance but let's not get carried away. Let's see 5 to 10 games at that level before we start talking as if that's the norm because it bloody isn't.

You mean he doesn't put in the effort? I think he does, it's the quality that's lacking.

Nah I agree he puts in tons of effort, he's lacking quality generally but yesterday I thought he did a lot better than he typical does. Held the ball up well, combined decently, had a couple of shots etc. didn't fall over so much. If we could get that level of performance consistently from him then he's fine as a squad option but we've never had a run of decent performances.

It would though cause a bit of a conundrum if he's actually able to do it because between himself and Solanke we'd have a pair of very decent backup options but not the starter. Hopefully this season turns into a shoot out between them for whom deserves to stay and we replace the other with genuine quality the following season.

and remember it's World Cup season now
He will 100% want to stay fit and be Brasil's number 9 in that so I'm expecting he will have a good season

I wouldn’t dig him out for it but at the same time we can’t afford to keep him on the wage bill if he’s not available for selection as much as we need him to be.
