Putin & Russia

And yet many so called red lines have been crossed and nothing. Of course things may get out of control but I suspect that there is a very remote chance of Russia going nuclear. Probably zero chance considering Putin's fear of his own mortality.

I'm more worried about that macaron in the White House and his morbid fascination with nuking things at the moment. And look, he has now decided to restart nuclear testing. Oh joy.
I mean, being more worried about the US than Russia is an interesting take for sure ...

Has there been any significant moves either way in this war recently? It's all gone a bit quiet in the press.
I like Philips O'Brien's weekly analysis on the war. In short his analysis notes the battlelines are more or less static, with the odd minor exception. The majority of the attention is focused on the ranged aspect of the conflict. From a Ukrainian perspective, this means applying their own 'sanctions' on the russian fossil fuel industry, which is having a notable effect. Trump has repeatedly promised sanctions on Russia but has always backed down when it matters. It is total performative flimflam, and everyone and their dog knows it.
