Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

I don't usually post in this thread, because reasons.

But when debating who people will vote for and why...

...you need to appreciate just how THICK a lot of people are.

Incredibly thick. The kind of thick that you would think is a parody. Thicker than granite.

Majority of the media (and social media) is right wing content. People consume what they are fed and have absolutely zero clue about reading up whether it's true or not.

The fact that Farage is seen as some kind of "working mans hero" is all you need to know. No doubt, when he bricks on people again like has happened post Brexit, he'll create a new party, a new enemy, and people will lap that up and wonder why their lives are no better.

Still, Blue Passports eh.

FA Cup final day no?

As he invokes GHod a lot, so I can only assume he is a very holy man in tune with GHod's teachings. Teachings such as love thy (white) neighbour and let he who is with sin cast the first brick. A real man of Jesus.

I'll say this.
At least the people in that video had the common sense and good grace to a) admit they didn't know what was being said and b) the humility to say they would likely now hold a different opinion. Which I think is (conversely) a sign of intelligence (not allowing ego to stand ahead of newly-acquired knowledge).

True.
I just find it so dispiriting that people could think Farage is an OK bloke and is aligned with the working man, when clearly he is a rich, posh grifter paid by Putin.
Mind you, some Americans still think Trump is an OK bloke, so I shouldn't be so surprised.

I don't expect people to know policies off by heart, but they should be able to see the devil when he's standing in front of them bright red with steam rising off his horns and a pointy fork.

Agreed!

Good news that the local elections are now having to happen as what Two Tier wanted to try and do was deemed illegal
As expected not one comment from our Labour comrades on yet another U-Turn from their leader

I don’t really see it as a U-Turn given it was a legal ruling that forced the reversal rather than being a flip-flop change of policy.
I didn’t agree with it anyway although it seems it will bring more burden to the local taxpayer by having council elections shortly before moving to mayoral elections.

It is a bit like dedicating a lot of club time over the next 4 months discussing Tudor's transfer ambitions
