Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

People are not interested in depth though. You can't lambast Farage for not rambling on about detail then say my posts on this forum are too long to read (which many of you do). People want to vote for people that clearly articulate the direction of travel. People are not interested in understanding the detail as they feel that detail is for civil servants, government lawyers and experts to resolve. Farage therefore only needs to make it clear to people that his number one priority is to stop and even reverse net migration and illegal migration and give them a reaaonable confidence he'll find a way to make that happen or have a better chance of moving in that direction than anyone else.

Therefore lack of depth is not a weakness in politics coherence and strength of messaging is what is key.

Coherence is not a requirement IMV. Staying the course with one's public personna/personality-driven self-image is the key ingredient.

precisely the point being made. You want short sharp facts. Farage is brilliant at this. 2 million in last 2 years and you wonder why you can't get a job, a house, why food is going up. Its short. Its sharp. Its a fact. You don't need the detail.

Ahhhh...our old friend 'context' just never gets invited to these parties anymore...

He was asked his evidence on a statement and he mentioned 2 taxi drivers. Whatever you might fanboy over re: his overall persona, it was an idiotic response.

In the current climate (indeed, a climate he helped set a decade ago) he continues to sing the lyrics and play the notes that many people respond to. It is a trick the opposition don't have an answer to. They need to figure out the language barrier fast IMO. Simply writing off people who deliver messages like this -or who respond to them 'positively'- is social and political suicide. Yes, challenge them but also listen to them carefully and don't alienate.

Reform are the only party endorsing a low tax, low spend form of government. I'd expect them to win the vote of everyone with at least a vague understanding of economics.

It makes sense for very few people, you are probably one of them. But the majority who support them are in for a big surprise when they see what is to come with Reform. They will ravage the working classes

Tories & Labour have done this for years, mainly with the freezing of the tax thresholds for far too long, the biggest stealth tax there is

Reform intending to reduce Corporation Tax thresholds massively, get rid of the ridiculous IR35 rules would be brilliant for me, get them in, I can earn a fortune in 4 years then retire early and go and live somewhere not in the UK, happy days

Love to see how much patriots actually love this place

The working classes will probably enjoy the better employment opportunities that a stronger economy will create. Except those who don't want to work, but fudge them.

How do you see the current Ai v low-skilledf employment opportunities v total lack of investment into education over the last 15 years v a growing distrust of conventional academic intelligence?

I think we are edging ever-closer to a world where nations have millions on some form of 'universal income'...

There are some jobs that should have been automated a long time ago - like train drivers, etc that will and should go.

Every revolution in work has made people sure that it would kill jobs and it doesn't, it just changes them. The industrial revolution didn't kill work, the invention of the car didn't kill work, the computer and internet revolution didn't kill work. AI won't weed and seal my driveway or trim my trees and I'll be fudged if I'm doing it.

Education is an interesting one. There are so many talented, hard working teachers in our state system. But so much of their work is undone by the lazy, incompetent, unsackable few. There are two steps that would immediately make a leap in education quality in this country:

1) Reduce the strength of the unions in order to allow schools to replace underperforming staff and better incentivise the talented.

2) Offer an annual £5k tax rebate to anyone that privately educates their child. This will both relieve the pressure on a creaking state system and improve the education of those leaving it.

Labour can't achieve 1, as they would be skint if they did. 2 doesn't play well to the clapping seal simpletons who base their political opinions on envy and a hatred of success.

This seems to be a common theme since Trump was elected the first time. People are constantly looking for a non-electoral method to remove those they didn't want in power.
Equally people just don't like Trump because his history of being a sexual predator etc etc. I'm ok with not wanting to align with folk like that

I think, unfortunately, the only answer is to see them in power and fail because of a lack of substance and depth.

The whole "the only reason you are poor is because of them over there" only holds up if you do something about it when in power.

On what basis though? It is easy thing to say? "They'll ravage the working classes". How? Apart from anything else their voter base is significantly working class so if working class people don't feel better off under them, they're f*cked.

- Net migration is likely to fall significantly under a Reform government. Current policies such as a significant employer's NI uplift for a foreign worker will make the employment and training of British workers more attactive and cost effective for employers, reducing competition in the enployment market and boosting wages.

This potential economic shock will be offset for SMEs by increasing the profit threshold for corp tax to £100K and with a gradiated reduction in corporation tax over several years. And abolishing business rates for SME businesses.

Lifting the tax free allowance to £20,000 will make everyone other than the very well off instantly better off.

Reduction in energy costs will also help. I am really unsure how they will ravage the working classes. I think that is just words.

Labour are ravaging the working classes right now. That is who is ravaging the working classes. Retail spending is at its lowest level since the financial crash. The economy is literally crashing. As i type. Right now.
