Yeah they're catching up on funding due to tory donors defecting - but as I've said thats only started happening in the last year. Lib Dems have been getting millions for decades.

Yeah "everything harmonise on 16 like in civilised countries". What civilised country considers 16 years old to be adult? The adult world is such a sh*tshow the longer we keep our kids as kids in my book the better. If anything "civilised" has moved the opposite way - used to send kids down pit or into factory machines in victorian times. Used to marry girls off at 13. Smoking and marriage being uplifted to 18. Talk of driving too. If anything "civilised" people are harmonising on older and older ages for "adulthood".

Mate would you have let some of your friends vote at 16.

I certainly wouldn't have wanted some of my friends voting because they were interested in girls, beer & football politics no chance.

Its no different with older people. Some are engaged most arent.

You could equally ban over 75s from voting unless they pass an annual dementia test. Or ban anyone who reads tabloids on failure of faculties grounds

It's more about viewing maturity as a scale.
18 is the age of majority - there isn't technically a adult age.
It's why we have an age of criminal responsibility - under ten, 10-17, 18+
It's why you can drink with a meal at 16, but not go out on the lash until 18, legally
But you can get behind the wheel of a dangerous machine at 17
You can create new human life at 16

There is an importance and responsibility to voting; but it not more impactful than driving or creating a baby. They should be the same age at least.
I'd argue that voting should be allowed before procreation, but it's unrealistic to separate out the age at which you can have sex and the age you can concieve
